Definitely a trademark problem. Referencing the url will just make it easier for them to catch you, although since google owns youtube I'm sure they'll catch it soon enough.

Surely you'll have problems, HUGE problems. Youtube is a trademarked company and is also owned by Google which happens to be the world's leading search engine. The Big G can and will surely find you. Legal issues will come in your way for doing this.

I hear you on the tired part I first read it as youtube less. Lol thought maybe it was a site that sold intertubes like are you tube less do you need a tube. I need to go to bed. As for the copyright problem do a search to see if any other websites with the word youtube in them come up and see how long there website has been around. You can always try utubechess.com hope this helps sorry about the part a the top I promise I was not making fun of your site I just read it fast. well I did a search just for youtube on google and a few websites with the name youtube in the domain do come up, but you can check and see how long they have been around good luck

No, I don't think so. What you'll almost certainly have is trademark issues. Google has many cases pending at the moment against people who have misused trademarks they own in domain-names.

When you're lucky, they just take the domain-name from you. When you're unlucky, they sue, too.

There are circumstances under which it's legitimate and lawful to use someone else's registered trademark in a domain-name you own, but it strikes me that this perhaps isn't going to be one of them.

I'm not a lawyer, not even available to play one on TV (but will play a first-year law student for the right fee).

Ok I am not a lawyer.
a)this is a copyright infringement and a trademark infringement.
Love to play chess and I understand the reason of trying that however I would hate to see you get into hot water best thing to do is not do it at all.

That would be like using a major name in the chess arena in the url. not good.

Target your audience. something like chessgurusonline or chessdude or chessmasterclub give us 30 days and we will teach you to dominate the worlds most challenging game.
something that targets the audience your are wanting to hit. know your demographic and arrange your domain name so it is relevant to that and then make the site relevant to the domain.

have different level of sign up -beginner,advanced,chessmaster. etc that way you are hitting all of them and not just one.
    just my thoughts
