I need a website critique!

I am getting ready to start building my list and launching my info products for my sight howtomake100bucksaday.com and I want to know what I should do to make it appealing to the eye. I know this seems shallow to some, but I want people to feel like staying for a while once they get there. So, I ask my fellow Warriors, what do you think of the look, and what changes or tweks do you recommend? Thanks for your help.

I would change that background*. That opt in form should be somewhere in your site also instead of footer. Trust me, it converts very bad when you do it like that. People get annoy by that footer opt in.

Site looks pretty good Leny. The only thing that stands out for me is the text in the title and in your posts seems a bit small and hard to read.

I would have something on the page offering something of value, like an ebook or report with an opt-in form.

      Hey Leny,

If you want I can help you design a tight logo. I did the one on my site (link is through my signature)

I like doing it and of course I won't charge you anything. I'm trying to give back to the community!

      PM me if interested.

I could use some help with the Logo. Let me know what your rates are. I need two separate logos done. Thanks!

That is a jolly nice thing to do. Well done Ryan.

To the OP, personally I'd follow Wills instructions to the letter. He has a lot of experience.

Your site content has little to do with its title.

I'm not interested in an essay on what I could do with $100 a day - your title promises to tell me HOW to earn $100 a day.

Then the content is irrelevant to the title.

I presumed you would be giving a 5, 10, 30 point action plan.

Either change the title or change the content.

    Here's a few suggestions:

    1. Colours, background and header are poor - get a professional header designed.
    2. Body font is a poor choice - switch to arial or verdana
    3. Opt-in form looks amateur - again mainly colour and fonts
    4. Your tracking image is not showing for me (125x125 animated gif)
    5. You are potentially alienating 50% of your audience using terms like 'businessman'.
    6. Dismiss the opt-in and visit the site again - the footer shows the text 'custom footer goes here'.
    7. The boxes around your posts cause the site to look dated.
    8. Your video does not play.
    9. The Youtube channel theme looks amateur (standard theme would be better).
    10. Make your Menu more interesting by adding more options.

Most of the above could be sorted out by choosing a good theme. Take a look at 2010 Weaver - it's very customisable.

    And good luck.

I second what Will and the others have said, though I think the overall colours are OK, the background has GOT to go, it's so 1990's!

Times New Roman or whatever font it is you have used is way out in favour of sleeker modern fonts such as Arial, Tahoma, Verdana etc.

You seem to have 2 different styles going on, square corners in the main frame and rounded corners in the sidebar.

I don't even see an opt-in form, and if you do have one it should be visible as close to the top of the page as possible to capture even the laziest of prospects.

Search box again doesn't fit with either theme, it's a totally random and different design to every other element.

I'd suggest keeping the rounded corners theme, the social icons and redesigning everything else!

Sorry, but it just isn't streamlined and consistent enough for me. And consistency = professionalism in my opinion

What are you selling to me?

I do not understand about the $160,000 car. For $50,000 can get a used Ferrari that looks max. A few weeks back I saw a used corvette for $11,500 that was a beauty and then some.

As for houses, I can get excellent repos. This year right on water there was a mansion sold for $430,000 that once was worth several million a few years ago. It is so big to clean it I would need an army. A condo on the water that sold for 1.5 million in 2005 was $94,000 last year.

That said, what is the point of your web page?

Agreed the content and the title have absolutely nothing in common. I think you should really go for a new title or modify the existing one to agree more with your website content.

Most of the time people feel like being fooled when they come across such websites where the title and the content are not related. Like yours. And that is definitely bad advertisement and bad promotion for your website.

Next would be to make it look natural and friendly I am actually thinking less colors and or less too sharp colors.

    Hope that helps.
