  • Facebook ads have become just as competitive as Google Ads. You need to know what you are doing, otherwise you can lose a lot of money very quickly.

I have no experience using it, but have been looking into it. I know there's people that use them effectively, but it seems the consensus is that Facebook's ad dept. is very inconsistent with what they will allow to run.
From a user's standpoint, I don't even look over there because I know that it's an ad.

Along with loosing a lot of money you can also loose your account.

Facebook can be touchy when marketing to their members. And remember they ARE Facebook's members and FB hates anything that even remotely resembles spam.

My advice would be find someone that's experienced with running a Facebook ad campaign.

I totally agree. Having this type of ad will definitely work for you just like the regular Google ads. The good thing is you can now have this option to make sure you’ll be able to introduce yourself well and your business. You'll find a lot of people who can help you with your needs like this.

  • You also have to consider your niche (you didn't say what it was).

Through my own testing, FB ads are much more likely to lead to an opt-in than a sale so using them to build a prospect list (as long as its targeted) could be worth it if you can stretch your ad budget that far.

But if you're planning on getting them to whip out their CCs right away, you're probably in for a nasty surprise.

I tried Facebook on a small tight niche. Was not profitable for me, but I did learn a couple of things.

    1. If you bid too low, your ads will not show when the traffic is heavy.

    2. A timer or some kind of schedule would be nice for regulating when your ads are active. If you are promoting a product that is based or applicable only to a certain country, you don't want those ads showing when your target audience is asleep.
