Who will it be? I need you!

Here is a proposition. I want to learn but when I ask questions I get general replies that really are no help to me. What I want is to be able to understand the layout and function of wordpress and the plugins people say to use. I want to know where to get graphic designs for headers, logos, videos, power point etc.. I want to know how to make a contact form, and how to use spueeze pages, link cloaking, forwarding, masking, etc.. I want to understand what it is I am doing (how to put the puzzle together). I can research keywords and write all day long, no problem. But I can't tie the process together. Squeeze page, blog, store, auto responder, articles, videos(how to add text, graphics, etc.) If iwant to put up one site or 100 I want to do it, I don't want to have to depend on someone else.

I WANT TO LEARN!

I am a member of various sites and I spend between 100-300/mnth and am getting nothing out of it. I will spend this money with someone who will speak with me skype, phone, email and combination who has the ability to teach me. I am not expecting the world and I know that it is not alot of money(it is to me).

Great for you... It's a good idea to do all this yourself. Then (like you said) there is no dependency.

However, this is a very tall order. That is a lot to learn and it may take a few months of diligent training to learn all of that.

I would be willing to work with you, but only one subject at a time...

It's very important that you don't become overwhelmed with info overload.

Any way, pm me and let me know where you want to start, I can surely give my 2 cents, since I've been right where you are not long ago...

      Brian,
That makes perfect sense and that is what I wanted as well, a little at the time. I do not think I have enough post to initiate a pm so shoot me one and I will get you my contact info

Not to be rude - but if you want to learn all those things - what's stopping you? There are dozens of explanations about wordpress and plugins, etc online available with a search.

There are dozens of posts here about every single item you've mentioned - but you have to read through them and pick out the things YOU need to know. I don't think it's possible to have someone who tells you only what you need without giving more info or alternate explanations.

In one post (above) what you are saying is "teach me everything" - and that can be done. The other side is you have to learn it and choose the steps and methods for doing each thing that suits you. All of the things you mention can be done in more ways than one.

Frustrating? Sure is - but it gets easier if you choose one things to learn and then learn it and move to the next one. If you search the WSO section I think there is a "beggining wordpress" offer there that might get you started.

Definately not taken as rude... That is part of what I definately need someone who has a succesfull funnel that can say, "ok i see your idea this is what you do to implement it." Right now I don't have that I am all over the place and it is driving me nuts. When I search for information it usually ends up being something I do understand and can do or it something that is rehased. This is frustrating when you want to start and push forward and you cant wrap your mind around what you need to do because of all the "noise".

Have you considered you may know more than you give yourself credit for?

You don't have to know php or major tech stuff to build a wordpress blog or make it successful.

You don't have to understand all the nuances of list building to slap up a form on your blog and let people sign up to your list.

You seem to have the big picture in that you realize how much is involved - but you don't have to be an expert on everything. That's the beauty of working online - get the basic of how to launch a blog with fantastico and go to town.

Best way when you know something (but not all) is to jump in and go as far as you can. When you hit a snag come here and ask and we'll get you over it. Then you are moving forward again. If you wait till you know it all, you may be too old to do anything:p

Just a general tip: If you are spending that much, and are getting nothing out of it, I wouldn't continue to spend that money. ....but, that's just me....

I think that is the purpose of this thread. Me deciding that I definately was not learning what I thought or what I was led I would be taught... so here is my request.

I would be willing to bet that you could find videos that show you how to do most of the things that you are wanting to do right on youtube, have you tried just searching over there?

Are you willing to spend 6 years working with WP? It took me that long to be where I am now... to understand everything in WordPress. Plus, I have read (almost) all the WP Codex, the online WP manual. Yeah, I know, boring stuff.

Unless you plan to do custom WP work for others... why would you need that???

    Improve your search-fu
You don't need to learn all that. You need to learn HOW to get the resources that are available. Search > bookmark > try. Repeat.

You are mixing different stuff here... Thinking clear is the first step to get things done.
If in WP + contact form: use a simple plugin. Done.
Squeeze page: put a subscribe form in any simple html page. Done.

The rest of the items are technicalities that you'll understand when you get the basics of how the internet works.

One step at a time. Get the basics first. Then go to the next one.

    Too bad
All the information you are asking for is available for free on the net.
Stop spending money and learn how to search and find information you need. If you will wait until you understand everything - you will never do anything in IM.

Make a plan what do you want to do. Not what you want to learn... but what is it that you are going to do tomorrow, next week. Focus on it. Do it.
Then go to the next step.

You are using the computer and, like many of us, you don't know exactly how all the circuits, chips, gizmos work in it - but we all are able to use it. The same with all that stuff that you "want to learn".

I understand you because coming from an academic background I always want to "understand" how things work. Luckily, I am fine if I get the principle, the theoretic background, the big picture, if you wish... not interested in specific details.

E.g. I know what an autoresponder does, I know how to use it (write the message; click the send button); I know what are the benefits of using it. That should suffice.

OK, you got all this for free

If I were you, don't just depend on answers. Do your own research and then focus. The answers are really just on the net. Why don't you start searching for video tutorials related to your questions? They are really so many things that you can learn if you just have the eagerness to find solutions on your questions! Good Luck

If you really want to learn, you need to make a way on your own. Asking questions to other should be your last resort. There' s a lot of information you can get from the internet. Just be patient, learning is a process you need to take it slowly but surely.

    Goodluck.

Campbell, I think you are trying to learn too much at one time. You have a blog up, it may not be exactly what you want, but it will work until you can learn more about Wordpress. Just try and learn one thing a day about a WP Blog. Slow down and look for videos on things you want to learn about Wordpress.

You really are all over the place, the things you want to learn could take you years to learn. Just decide what you need to know to get started on a small scale and when you have free time try and learn some of the other stuff like graphics, and theme building these things take awhile to learn.

      Good luck
      Clint
P.S. It took me 2 years before I learned how to get a domain set up on a hosting account. Ofcourse it was harder to find information back when I started and I didn't know about the Warrior Forum, not even sure the Warrior Forum was around back then.
