PayPal Now has inventory control and much more!

Hi All,

Am I just behind the times or is this new?

I like e-junkie and have stated so many times, mainly because it allows inventory control. In other words, if I'm flipping a website or want to limit ebook sales to a certain amount I set the number and forget it. I don't have to watch it to avoid overselling. In the case of flipping a site I set the number to 1. In the case of the eBook I set it to whatever number I want to sell at that price.

I Just discovered a "new" paypal button feature that lets me do Inventory control the exact same way inside my paypal control panel. Furthermore I can create a drop down box with any number of variations.

This even lets you create a One Time Offer via the drop down box. I'm amazed.

Am I just behind or as I asked, is this new?

Since these services are free with PayPal I must sadly (really because I like them) say good-bye to e-junkie

It's fairly new. The re-did their button structure recently and the inventory control was just one of the changes.

You don't necessarily have to say goodbye. It might be a good idea to keep e-junkie as an alternate method, just in case something crazy happens with Paypal. For example, having your account frozen while they decide if you engaged in fraudulent transactions, etc. There have been a lot of horror stories with Paypal, and even though they are popular, it would be wise to have other payment processors available for your customers.

      David,

I noticed a feature that supports affiliates, if I was reading it correctly, It costs about $30 a month.

      Awesometbn,

I only use ej in connection with paypal so if something went wrong with PayPal ej wouldn't work for me.

We have this feature for publishers using Nanacast.com for selling digital and physical products, memberships, podcasts, rss feeds, etc.

One thing that we did was set it up so that once the limit is reached when they hit the order button they can be redirected to an alternative url of the publishers choosing.

This way publishers can direct those that come after a supply or limit is hit to an optin page for new supply notices or even an alternate offer or affiliate product the publisher wants to suggest as an alternative.

Its pretty cool because you can even use it to sell unique one of a kind limited items etc but also once they are sold redirect to an alternative or affiliate site so that you can still generate revenue from any others showing up when supply is exhausted.

Our system processes with Authorize.net, 2co, or PayPal so you do not have to login and set limits in your paypal account.

    Nanacast also supports affiliates.

      Josh,

That sounds interesting. I'll check it out. EJ never was great for affiliates and PayPal's Aff feature (If it really is that, I might have misread) looks expensive.

Right now I just need inventory control to flip sites fast. and The PayPal thingy is great.
