Hi,

How do I upload a PDF ebook to my domain using Wordpress? I have free report that I want to use to build a list but, I don't know how to make it work right. I hope this makes since.

Do you have an ftp program that you can use to upload your report?

I use Dreamweaver, even on my sites that have Wordpress I use Dreamweaver to upload reports. I'm not sure if you can actually do it through Wordpress itself.

Thanks for the help. I have an ftp program and I tried to upload it to the main directory of my domain but, I seem to be doing something wrong. I'll try it again.

I didn't mean to say I trying to use Wordpress to upload files.

        1. The "main" directory should be public_html (if cPanel) or www on other host; or htdocs.
        Are you uploading it there?

        2. Unfortunately, your OP sounded like that

I just always use a FTP program and upload the pdf file into the main directory.

So if you got mysite.com and you upload it to that directory..

    You'll have mysite.com/myebook.pdf

I don't need to create a folder or any thing like that, just upload right?

    No, it doesn't make sense.

WordPress is not the "panacea" for everything.

WP is a content management system (CMS).

For uploading files - you should use the proper tools, like a FTP client.
(Side note: never upload for distribution a PDF file; zip it first!)

You don't need to create a folder, but I usually do, just to keep things organized

There might be another way to upload if your ftp is giving you a hard time.

Sign on to your host and see if you have a file manager. Also, your host might have a built in FTP.

I figured I what I was doing wrong. I had to put the file name in the right format.
    Thank you for the help.
