Hey everyone, its your friendly neighbourhood cowboy, jesse jaymes, with a question about host gator. Whats the best plan on host gator to use for WP and the total cost for you.

    I use the Baby plan, and I think it's about $9 a month.

    It allows for multiple domains under your hosting plan, and gives you unlimited space and bandwidth

    Hi Jesse,

    Its depend your plan. If you are planning only for one site then, Hatchling plan should be OK for you. But, If you plan for multiple sites the you choose baby plan.

    So far, i have no problems with hostgator as many of sites hosted by hostgator.

      Maleeqa, you took the words right out of my mouth. The only thing I'd add is that there is only a $1 per month difference between the Hatchling and Baby plan (when you're paying by the month), so in my mind springing for the Baby plan is a no-brainer especially if you have even the slightest inclination toward setting up multiple sites.

      I agree with paulie888. You may need more than one domain names if you do affiliate marketing and promate many products.

        First off, I really like Hostgator!

        I too have the Baby plan -- with tons of sites/blogs.

        I totally recommend the Baby Plan. I'm not sure what the purpose of the Hatchling plan is and the price differential is completely laughable.

        I suspect the Hatchling plan is only there to make the Baby plan look like the awesome deal that it is. (oh, and maybe for wusses...)

        In terms of bandwidth and number of domains -- they assure you that they are indeed unlimited (sort of, if you don't push it). I'd be careful with running too many videos though.

        And you should also know about a limit that I discovered recently:

        inodes!

        Every time you create/upload/whatever a file, it creates an inode, and you're limited to 250,000 of them in theory, but actually, if you go above 100,000, they won't back up your static files, just your data bases.

        This won't come up for a while, but you might be surprised, especially if you're using email a lot (and all the web stats also use up tons of inodes. Each email creates an inode, and each item in your web stats does too. So that can add up.

        I deleted my stats when I was way over, and I instantly cleared out something like 50,000 inodes!

        Even if this makes no sense, keep it in the back of your mind, once your account "grows"...

        The word "unlimited" does have some interesting limitations...

    I think baby plan is the best plan in hostgator. My internet marketing mentor suggest to use baby plan in hostgator. The price is $9.94/month..
