Google Webmaster Tools is a pain in the....

It seems every time I go to the dashboard there is a new surprise that GWT has in store for me.

Is it worth spending your whole day worrying about crawl errors, issues with your sitemap etc...??

Or is is smarter just submitting your sitemap and not constantly checking to see if your pages have been indexed, trying to fix crawl errors etc...?

    I don't have an answer for you but I can sympathize. Google almost always seems to have some sort of an issue with my sitemaps and I'm not sure what to do. Honestly, I have just been leaving it be as awstats shows that google is searching my site daily.

    You should not have problems with your sitemap in GWT, if you do, it's usually worth checking out especially if it's preventing URL's within your website from being indexed or even worst, your homepage!

    I wouldn't worry so much about timeout crawl errors unless there's an unusual number of them at once.
