I have read somewhere that just as I believe myself ezine advertising success rates dropped drastically over the years since the late '90's. I've not even considered it in most of my ad campaigns (free and paid) and I hardly see or hear it being discussed on most of the sites I visit so I'm wondering... Is Ezine Advertising Still Effective? (For You)? If so, please post after-ad stats, reasons why (your ezine ad(s) worked) or why not etc... I'm trying to decide if I should go back for this kind of advertising, most people talk PPC which I will probably never consider for the simple reason it takes too much time for me to get my head round all that crap and anyway, I have success with the methods I do use when I use them so am satisfied for now.. but in my bid to expand my traffic sources, I'm now considering the ezine ad path after many years so any useful responses will be appreciated. Thanks... Kunle |

To be honest, these days I use it as a way to get back links to increase PR for site and to get ranked for a keyword, I don't really rely on it for traffic purposes. It does depend a lot though on the niche as some niches get tons of hits for the article if you do it right.

Good point re: article ezine advertising, wasn't actually thinking of that, I was talking more in respect of a 5-line sponsored ezine ad for example.. something that will cost up front cash to embark on.. any thoughts on that? Cheers, Kunle | |

Whil we're on the subejct anyone using ezineadvertising.com? Trying to find info on what I actually can enjoy but most links just lead to an order page, not that there's much wrong with that, I'm just wondering... if there are any happy customers here in the warrior forum, I'll buy it if I get no responses, just curious to hear what others are experiencing so far... Cheers, Kunle |

I think that just like other areas in which the volume and competition has increased exponentially you see the effectiveness go down. This is true in article marketing, PPC and reciprocal linking. But there's always one way that can still work for you: do it better than others! I take my time to craft articles that my potential customers will want to read. Of course I want the backlinks too but I also want to pre-sell my readers. And, yes, it does work for me. On any given day I get about a third of my traffic from my articles and they convert much better than most other visitors. So it's definitely worth my while. |

Charlie Page who owns Directory of Ezines has recently been selling a coaching course teaching the best of ezine advertising strategies. So I guess there are still plenty of people who believe in it. I advertised a few times in ezines years ago, but got nothing out of it. I know that I still get some advertisers for my own (self help) ezine now and then. I also know that I get sales and lead/downloads from my own monthly ezines (I obviously advertise my other websites and affiliate products in my own ezines). They may not be a lot, but it does show a spike in activity and leads each month, so something is still working. I think that nowdays to get any REAL benefit and good ROI you need to actually take a training session like Charlie is offering, and learn from the pros how to best make it work for you. |

It's not close to be dead. I earn a lot of money with my newsletters and thousands of other marketers as well. All you need to do is to find the RIGTH newsletter! One that people actually read and enjoy in your niche. Those newsletter are generally expensive, but the return will be incredible if you use them well. Your marketing shouldn't stop to the 5 line ads... it's the beginning. Franck. |
