Because of my background and experience, I write ALOT about military issues. With the build up of the U.S. Military after 9/11, it clearly became a VERY heavily targeted niche....nearly impossible for most to break into because of the high amount of advertising dollars being funneled into it.

IMHO, just like the deep founded traditions and heraldries of the U.S. Military, this is a niche that is relatively unchanging (in general). My writing is geared towards providing answers to questions that are military related, and I do monetize alot with adsense. Because of the companies involved, and the necessity of soldiers, I have written alot of articles, in particular, about wear, appearance, and items that can be integrated into various military uniforms. Those articles have created a quite nice passive income.

i'm too diffuse and hardly have picked a good niche...

but if i had to pick one.. perhaps... or a couple... to define my niches...

    A Course In Miracles

    News

    Videos

    Editorials

    Psychology

probably 4 out of 5 of those are too broad...

so more specifically, in psychology: critical psychology ... Szazian theory ... psychiatric liberation ...

but my news and videos are too broad.. and the editorials mostly relate to psychology and current events.

then in blogger and a couple other places... i'm just all over the map.

thanks for asking this.. it has helped me to clarify things for myself.

and why? because they are my interests...

I'm giving the video game niche a try because I really love video games, so I think that Ill stick with it rather than get bored with it, because I'm 'forcing' myself to learn it. I figured it will seem a lot less like work if I can research something that I enjoy.

I doubt you are doing $1 Million+ a year parking dropped domains.

The domain parking industry is in shambles. The biggest domain portfolio owners in the world will be the very first ones to confirm this.

Even in its glory days it is pretty much impossible that anyone put together such a portfolio of dropped, regfee domains (unless you want to go back to the pre-boom era of the internet). If over the course of years you could identify a group of domains worth $1M a year in parking, other people are checking the exact same metrics that you are - resulting in bidding wars at the drop catchers. The cost of buying the necessary domains would be significant. $x,000 - $xx,000 each, and you would need a lot of them.

New Joint Venture Announced for Making Money with Domain Names « Hedge Fund Blog | Hedge Fund Information | Hedge Fund News

According to that page about the domain parking info product, Millions Forever LLC is Stephen Colangelo and John Bonk.

However here on WarriorForum we have you, Richard Saperstein, the Director of Sales & Marketing, claiming to own 5,000 domains that profit $1 Million per year. And you are presenting these claims as though you are personally doing it yourself.

So is there one person making this $1 Million a year from the drop lists or is it the collective effort of a company?

Maybe you could clarify some of this.

With respect to the OP, why would anyone come on here and reveal their business model?

So that complete newbies can come in and compete... without doing any of the hard work we've done?

I mean all power for asking the question, but seriously.

I believe that there is an abundance out there for all of us, but the question is a touch cheeky IMO. It's the equivalent of walking up to a stranger and asking to see their genitalia.

I'm in the make money online industry, which is quite competitive. My particular interests within that industry are with permission marketing and promoting Wealthy Affiliate University.

The reason I'm in the make money online industry is because that's something I want to do. I'm in the steep learning curve part of running an article marketing campaign, and it's actually easier for me to write about the stuff I'm learning, like SEO, creating backlinks, keyword research than it is to learn all this IM stuff *and* also write about a completely different niche. So I'm learning how to do Internet marketing while at the same time running my campaign around how to do Internet marketing.

Permission marketing is something that fascinated me from the first time I learned about it. It's essentially where advertisers have to ask nicely and say please before they can bombard us with commercial messages. They provide us will cash incentives so we say yes, and that has given rise to some very interesting and lucrative network marketing opportunities which are free to join and where advertisers pay the commissions. I talk about specific opportunities on my website. These free opportunities work well alongside promoting Wealthy Affiliate because they catch the people who want to make money online but aren't willing to pay a monthly membership fee to learn how to do it.

Once I get that campaign to the point where it runs itself, the next niche I'm going to get into is getting organized, as in having a place for everything and knowing where it all is, having good routines down, chore lists for the kids, all that good stuff. The reason I'm getting into that one is because it's something I really need in my own life. Again, I'll be writing about what I'm learning and applying myself. The possibility of monetizing my journey towards better organization in my life will keep me motivated to stick with it.

There are tons of other niches I'm interested in but once I learned how a real Internet marketing campaign is run, I realized I can only run one at a time--at least until I'm making enough money so that my husband can quit his job, so I'll have to wait on some of the other cool niches, or figure out how to do them on a smaller scale--something less competitive, maybe.

Thanks so much for asking :-)

I started in the Detox Niche because my background is in health. It was something I was passionate about because I recovered from Chronic Fatigue many years ago with Detox.

I am in Natural Remedies as well as I know a lot about them. I have rather neglected that over the past year as I went into the IM niche but am trying to get traffic to it again as i do sell some affiliate ebooks from the site.

As I said I am also in the IM niche now as I got interested in that and traffic generation for my detox site.

I don't sell expired domain names I buy them and then park them. Basically 4 years ago we saw there was a huge market of expired domains that still had traffic and revenue potential. The problem was trying to find the right domain out of the 100k that expire everyday.

So we spent 4 years developing and testing this system we've created.

Anyways, you can sell expired domains after you have 30 days of parking revenue. The industry standard is 10-24 times their value.

      Example:

      You buy an expired domain and make $30.00 your first month on it. You have 2 options;

Option 1: Hold onto it for long term

Option 2: sell it for 300.00 to 700.00+ in 30 days.

Both options are viable it really boils down to your personality and style.

Also let me clarify something :

Domain "PARKING" that we do directly ties into Google, Bing & Yahoos advertising revenue. Alot of people have to pay for traffic, building websites etc just to make a buck.We do none of that. We buy domains that already have traffic, already have a site built to them etc.

The only cost we have is the price we pay for a domain name. So if we buy a domain for $10.00 and make $3,000 of it then all we have paid for is $10.00 .

Just in case anyone is wondering we own over 5000 domains. It does work and you can make a 6-7 figure income doing it.

It's easier this way. I love IM. I love marketing. I love sales. I love advertising. They're fascinating and exciting to me.

There's not much else I can say that about, and what there is... well, it's hard to monetise. I'm passionate about music, and art, and poetry. Hard to make much money with those.

So I stick to IM, which works pretty well.

I stick to three broad niches.

    Wealth
    Health
    Sex

I focus on those because I think they are all attached to very powerful human emotions. On top of that, I think these are three areas of life where nearly everyone would like to improve in some way.

Of course, I go a little more specific into these niches, but every market I operate in has a combination of obsessive and desperate buyers, which makes it just a little easier to sell to them.

Clients/customers constantly refer their colleagues to us. 7. It's a chance for me to train people with gainful skills and knowledge, provide people here with gainful employment as well as a chance of establishing and running their own businesses, and provide people and companies/businesses/corporations around the world with better solutions which can cut down their overheads, implement more marketing campaigns, widen the exposure of their content/business/brand name to a larger percentage of their target markets, get more buyer traffic, and increase the profitability of their businesses/companies/corporations, thereby giving them more resources to hire more people and implement more marketing campaigns, develop more products/services and improve the benefits of their products/services.
Fundamental Reason: To improve the living and working standards of myself, my wife, daughter, family, friends, employees, subcontractors and clients/customers.

With respect to the OP, why would anyone come on here and reveal their business model?

So that complete newbies can come in and compete... without doing any of the hard work we've done?

I mean all power for asking the question, but seriously.
When I read the title of this thread, I clicked on it to see how rough everyone was going to be on the OP. I was very surprised AND pleased to see that was not the case. Your opinion is exactly what I had expected to see.

I am pleased in the sense that I felt somewhat like others were willing to share a little insight into their niches which I have not seen on other forums. That makes me want to participate more here. I didn't see anyone sharing specific details that someone could just jump on and go make their fortunes.

I choose my niches the same way I choose the clothes I wear every day. I pick up a handful of laundry and sling it against the wall, whatever doesn't stick, I pick up and wear.
I think this is the best laugh I've had all day! I'm in about 6 different niches right now that range anywhere from food to nature to finances.

    Thanks everyone for sharing.

      well...

My opinion is exactly that because I live by my principle of giving first. To expect a real answer is naive, I would think.

Firstly, it's a public forum and secondly, you'll get better answers if you provide value first. I see to many coming on here and it's just take, take, take. I have no idea if the OP is of that mindset or not... but I can only go by what was posted.

      Take it as you wish.

My main niche online is mental health because I'm an expert on scientific dream interpretation and my discoveries are extraordinary. However, this is a very difficult field. You have to insist very much and prove that you are an authority. I'm managing to gradually prove the value of my work because it's really good. If I was not a real expert my business had no chances to survive in this field.

Now I'm also involved on internet marketing. I've learned a lot about this matter since 2007. I have a background because I had stores and factories in the offline world - my parents and many of my family members had stores, small factories, big factories, etc. So, they gave me one too. I know how to sell, even thought I prefer teaching, curing and helping people than selling something. On the other hand, selling something nice is pleasant, while curing mental illnesses is a sad occupation. This aspect makes me like internet marketing very much.

I have only been sticking to the niches that I know well. I think it is easier to have a niche that you know about and know how to make this knowledge appeal to visitors.

    >Network marketing, I like the product

And I'm learning the programming language python right now with hope of developing some sweet software to market, it seem for things like "make money online" software is the way its moving.

    Main niche is Freelancing.

Why? Because many many people are turning away from the big corporate jobs and going down the freelance route.
