Absolutely Confused About Traffic To Opt In Page

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I have some blog posts up on my blog , and I have a squeeze page as well.

So each of my blog posts is targeting a specific keyword that market samurai has helped me to find. I want to promote my squeeze page so that I can get more opt ins, so i've been putting out some articles on ezinearticles with anchor text using my keywords pointing back to my squeeze page.

My question that I'm frustrated with is should I be promoting my blog posts with keyword anchor text targeting the same keywords as my blog post, or will my blog posts rank in the search engines if I just send all my article traffic with my keywords as anchor text to my squeeze page.

My main frustration is whether or not my blog posts will rank in the search engine if I send people from article directories using my blogs keywords to just my squeeze page.

Should I send traffic to blog posts and to my squeeze page? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey Garrett,

Don't be frustrated... Creating links to your squeeze page is a good thing... And so is creating links for your blog posts... So you don't have anything to lose - you're sending traffic and getting some authority juice from ezine regardless.

To answer your question, your blog post won't get any link juice from your ezine article, because you're not linking your article back to it. If you really want a blog post to rank, create authority posts, on sites like ezine, and link back to your post (with your keyword if possible).

    I hope this helped!

Remember, there's nothing wrong with building a little traffic stream to your squeeze page... So don't stress yourself out for nothing.

    Rock on!

This is what I would do.

Try to spread the links from the articles across all the posts. I try to rank each post individually for the specific keyword I'm targeting. Some keywords have low competition so a few articles could have it on google's front page while more competitive keywords take a little more work.

What is important is that your blog posts offer some value so that visitors will want to opt-in to your mailing list. Don't just stuff the pages with keywords you want to rank and have a high ranking page that is unreadable.

Then I would get an optin form that pops up maybe 10 - 15 seconds after the each post/page is opened. By that time they should be primed and ready to sign up. Be sure to offer an incentive for signing up. A free ebook, coupon, or whatever is relevant to your niche.

Keep in mind that all the best internet marketers learned from their own experiences so don't be afraid to test and track.

    -Get your frustation out first

    - Make your blog post more informative and with rich contents.

    - Use top article directories only, because smaller article directories take article from top directories. Search google for it.

    - If you've a blog of making money, use something like this in your signatures, "I'm a blog writer, want to collect best online jobs, vist my website...."

    - Use social network like facebook, twitter and myspace etc. Make page and invite friends, post your blog posts there too.

    - NOTE: Post 3 times a week, update your contents with fresh contents every 3rd month. Because search engines love fresh content.

    Best wishes...

Don't forget that you're not limited to one opt-in page. If you have a dozen main keywords, you could also have a dozen opt-in pages, each varying slightly and targeted to a particular keyword.

As well, on each opt-in page you could have some specific content concerning that particular keyword. Place this just below the fold in the page (beneath the bottom of the screen). You don't want visitors to actually read this; it's for the benefit of the search engines and is intended to make the page more appealing to them and ranking better on the results pages.

For visitors to the page, design it so that your most compelling points of interest, and the opt-in form, are above the fold. You want them to complete the form without bothering to scroll down further.

You can then happily link to the opt-in pages from your articles.

Your blog posts can also link to the opt-in pages for SEO juice and could include a pop-up opt-in form to nudge them into signing up. I prefer a footer form (appears at the bottom of the screen) but there are a number of options available for blog posts.

    Here's what I would do...

Let your articles point to your blog posts allowing your blog to do the heavy lifting to get ranked in Google for various keywords. Then let your blog push readers to your squeeze pages by promoting your amazing free report.

That's just one way of doing things but if you are planing on writing lots of articles and draw traffic straight from your articles via getting ranked in Google then I would send the traffic straight to your squeeze pages. Once people have signed up I would instantly redirect them to your blog.

See, there are two great ways to do things. There really is no wrong way of doing it, just depends on your goals.

This is the politically correct answer anyways...

Here is what I do and it seems to work. First, I have an optin at the very top of every blog on the right in the sidebar so this gets seen no matter what post they are reading or if they land on the homepage. I try to always link to a squeeze page or to a page that has some way to collect an email (like an optin in the sidebar).

This way I can spread the backlinks out around my blog and still target optins and also warm up those who aren't ready to receive a 'free report' just yet.
