Relevant Content Myth Busted! I Think!

Hi guys just thought i'd ahare a little finding with all of you. I used to have a MFA site, however it wasn't making any money. So I completely removed all content from it.

A friend of mine asked me to help him with building a site for him so I did and to show him what changes were being made I put it all on the server for this domain.

The site was completely missing in the serps with no content and then I uploaded the work I had done for him on October 22nd.

Just done a search for the keywords and I am in position 1 lol.

Surely it must have been crawled a few times since 22nd of october, so how does google place it at number 1 with no relevant content other than a few backlinks and keyword rich domain.

Search for Nitro T1 Snowboard on google if you want a look.

Also any views would be welcome.

Google is weird sometimes but I would expect it to fall down the SERPS once it has been crawled a few more times.

For a start, although your content is not keyword rich, there is still content. Your domain name is very targeted for the keyword and this will hold weight with Google, alot of weight.

If I was you Id take your friends site down and stick up a review with an affiliate like point to buying the product and cash in, also locking in number 1 position.

Well the keyword is very specific to a single type of snowboard and according to Google its getting 720 search p/m.

Personally I would set up the main page as a product review on the T1 snowboard and then building subsequent pages reviewing other boards and inter linking them, making sure the T1 review is always coming up first as this is why the visitor has landed on your page.

With only 720 searches p/m you won't be making mega bucks with the t1 but by building the other pages and targeting those keywords aswell you could be looking at earning a few bucks from the website.

You could also look at promoting any information products you can using banners on the white on your website.

Search engines process sites in tiers.

The top X percent of sites get all the high-end tests.

The next X percent of sites get less testing.

And so on, and so forth, until the last X percent of sites get nearly no testing.

When you're targeting a keyword that nobody cares about, you don't get a whole lot of Google's interest.

Once you start to get enough traffic, and come up in enough searches, and show up for popular enough keywords... they start paying more attention.

And when you move up to the next tier, it's a whole new ball game.
