Hey Guys

I was wondering if any UK warriors use a 3rd party UK direct debit provider for payments.

If so, any recommendations?

Cheers,

Neil

Thanks but I'm asking about direct debits from a customer's bank account, not debit or credit cards.

With the direct debit system, you can request variable payments direct from your customer's bank account without the need to process any cards.

      Hi Neil,

We do. I can't remember the name offhand, but it is £500 signup fee.

Then you need to make sure your get your direct debit submissions to them each month, on one specific day, which can make things hard.

Other than that, it is an excellent service.

If you want I can dig out the name for you?

    Hi Steve

If you want I can dig out the name for you?
That would help. There seem to be many providers of this service so I'd rather go with one that's been recommended through experience.

    Thanks,

I've just asked 'PG tips' what the name is.

Once he gets back to me, I'll let you know.

      My memory is terrible.

    Thank you again Steve.

As Steve's recommendation has a £500 setup fee, I was wondering if any other UK warriors have used any others that don't.

Ideally, I'd like to get 2 or 3 to compare setup fees and ongoing charges.

    Thanks again.

    Cheers,

    Hello Neil,

Try RBS world pay, they have a feature to accept direct debits and are backed by the royal bank of scotland, but i think there is a open an account fee but not as much as £500 like the site mentioned above.

    Hi Neil

I know you said in your OP that you were looking for 3rd Party provider - but are you excluding your own Bank and you becoming a Direct Debit Originator?

Quite a bit of paperwork for some Banks and can take a while to set everything up - but a one-off.

    Just a thought.

Apparently they look for a £1 million turnover and various other criteria.

    Thanks though. Will investigate further.
