How do you check your rankings?

I was just wondering if there is a free way to check your google rankings?

Just by filling something in and it will tell you the highest the URL ranks for whatever keyword and give you a table.

For example:

KEYWORD 1 ---- #5
KEYWORD 2 ---- #26
KEYWORD 3 ---- #304

etc.

If there's not a free way of doing this, could someone point me in the direction of some recommended software?

    If you're using Firefox - there's a plugin by the guys over at seobook.com
    called "Rank checker".

    Just do a google search and you should find it. I think that should sort you out!

    Are you asking what is the keyword rank placement? Like place 1 out of all other links?

      I want to be able to type in a URL and see where it ranks for various keywords. Say it takes the top 10 rankings for the top 10 keywords.

    There are many free software that will let you do that.

    One is traffic travis by mark ling. It has a free version and will let you check your rank if its within the 1st 50 results. Professional ediction will check your rank uptil 1000 positions I believe.

    Another good one is Market Samurai. They give you a 14 days trial to the full version in which you'll be able to do your tracking too.

    Oh cool, Market Samurai has that feature?

    I've been tempted to buy it for a long time but keep oooing and aaahing over it. When I get the money I will probably buy it now..
