I've tried every form of backlinking over the last couple weeks: article marketing seems the best

What do you guys think about this? I've tried everything. forum commenting: ok links. blog commenting: ok links...time consuming to go to each blog, read it comment, then wait to get approved. Emailing webmasters for links: also very time consuming...hopefully you'll get approved....

Article marketing...articles indexed without you having to ping and backlink then etc. articles end up on good sites. backlinks get picked up by other people. and if you submit to 10 or 20 sites a day..you will have 10 or 20 long term backlinks that show up fast in a backlink checker....but....I don't really like to write articles...lol. but these are my findings. Does anyone else have a way to backlink they think makes more sense?

Article marketing does carry good weight because it's used by respected sites like EZA, Isnare e.t.c. Articles and content are currency of the web so it makes sense. The other backlinks you speak of do work as well they just take more time to be indexed and counted at times but you do get results from them.

I think I see best results from article marketing. I do a little bit of blog commenting, but generally I only use a couple of blogs that I regularly comment on and know my comments get approved. Occasionally I'll find other blogs and comment on but it is just such a tedious task.

I also have my own small blog network of about 10 blogs that I submit articles to, these do ok for giving me backlinks.

Squidoo and Hubpages are good too and get indexed reasonably fast.

completely agree with you. blog commenting is a headache. I get hardly 20% results with only url hyperlinks and around 7-8% when using anchor tags. Complete waste of time. but it is better to get backlinks from 100 sites rather than 100 backlinks from single site.

Look into tools for automating backlinks or even outsource them.

If you like article marketing do it, but save some of your artilces and spin them using TBS and then put them on the web 2.0s and have your automated or outsource backlinks link back to them, while the 2.0s are pointing to your money site.

Never ever waste time waiting for approval or for results, never stop building!

article marketing is good, however the link juice you get really isn't worth the time. But a link is a link.

      That is 100% not true.

If two pages have the same on page SEO and site A has 10 relevant backlinks and site B has 100 random backinks, site B will win.

I would also recommend outsourcing your backlinking. Personally I feel that its worth it but not worth me putting my time in for.

I also agree that article marketing is great but it should not be your only solution for backlinking.

Guest blogging can get you some strong links and good traffic. Top paid directory submissions like yahoo, BOTW, etc... are great links too.

There is no single method which will fullfil all the backlink requirements. The most effective are:

    1) Directory Submission to high pr( pr5 and pr6 +) directories
    2) Social Bookmarking to many hundreds of websites gradually
    3) Web2 sites article posting with backlinks pointing back to your website

Agree. And in Article marketing, quantity far more important than quality. 1 BEST written article can be beaten by 100 low quality articles from backlinks perspective.

A very short-term view. Not really true, overall, because the best-written article will be syndicated from article directories 100 times, and lead to high quality, high-PR, well targeted backlinks, traffic, opt-ins and sales. This is something that will never happen at all with a low quality article.

In article marketing, in the long run, quality will always win over quantity, because quality multiplies but quantity declines.

My main website traffic comes from ezinearticles.

Yahoo Answers is also very effective. You have the chance to post 3 or even 4 links with each answer (if you are a regular user), and your answers remain online. If your answers are good, you keep getting traffic from the same answers for a long time. YA has a PR8, what means that your answers frequently appear in the first pages.

You can make a combination: post 1 or 2 article links with your answer (in order to complement what you are saying), and your websites’ links as your main source in the end.

posting good quality articles will do you good in the long run as they get picked up by other people but having link breath is also very important.

for blog commenting, I dont usually do that for links on dot com domains. I would post good comments on high traffic blogs to get a burst of traffic and a back link is the bonus. If you want to do back linking on blogs, I would recommend you do it on edu/gov blogs. Find a few good, actives blog and get regular on them.

if you're building a good info site, directory submissions can be good too.

and lastly if you can afford it, go for a monthly subscription of a service like AMA. works amazingly well.

Article Marketing is one of the tehniques I use to get rankings on a regular basis, mix it up with other techniques such as Directory Submission, Forum Profiles (which still work), Blog Commenting (Not Spamming) and Social Bookmarking.

Also automate the processes as much as possible I use UAW and SEO Linkvine.

I do a little mix of them all. One of my sites does awesome with the profile links, but they didn't work so well with another of mine. Relevant blog comments with useful info on active blogs seem to be pretty strong for all my sites across the board. Articles have been good too. A bit hit or miss with some of my sites, but pretty good overall. One of my biggies is video traffic. Not really for the link juice but more for the direct, targetted traffic. I'd say that's where the majority of my visitors come from.
