Ads stop running after $50 mark every day

Hmm...

I've a very strange problem... my adwords ads will stop running at about the $50 mark every day...

My budget is $200 and I have more than sufficient funds in the account...

I set my ads to run in accelerated mode... which means they should be able to run as long as there are funds...

After hitting the $50 mark, my ads will stop running and my competitors ads will take over... I need my ads to run 24/7... but somehow this strange problem is preventing it from happening...

Anyone knows how to resolve it?

You have set your DAILY budget at $200 and the ads still stop running at the $50 mark? That's very strange. I would get Google on the phone.

      hi,
perhaps you should contact adwords directly..
I've view your website through your link, it's working now. =)

I am only guessing at this so don't take this as gospel, but sometimes ads
stop running because there is just no more traffic for those keywords. Just
because you set a budget of $200 a day means you're going to get $200
        worth of clicks a day.

I had an Adwords campaign a while ago that was set for $25 a day. I was
lucky to get to $5 a day sometimes.

If the traffic isn't there, it doesn't matter what you set your figure to.

I've had this happen before. Google's alogrithym for this is sometimes not very smart. It will look at your budget, and average it out over a months time, and if it thinks that you are going to run over - it will stop your campaign for the day. At least that's how my advisor explained it. I just had to up my budget amount. Have you tried to up your budget amount?

Hi Steve I understand what you mean...

I say it's strange because until fairly recently, I used to spend on avg about $100/day on adwords (there are days that hit $150+). However, for the past 2 weeks, my daily spendings hover around $50 afterwhich the ads just stop running...

And when I mean stop running... it means I searched for my keywords and my competitors' ads are running instead of mine...

So that eliminates the "no more traffic for those keywords" hypothesis.

I tried to add more campaigns (from other niches) which would add more traffic volume but the ads will continue to stop running when overall spending hits about $50.

Contacting adwords directly resulted in frustration and generic answers which got nowhere... I'm just wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem before and what you did to resolve them?

BTW, i already raised my daily budget to close to $500 (just as a test) and added a few more campaigns... the ads still stop at abut $50/day

Get ahold of a supervisor, and if he can't help you, keep going up the chain until you get the right answer.

That first guy you always get on the phone is a script reading monkey making minimum wage. Never stop there.

Maybe they are bidding for similar but different keywords, if that makes sense.

My guess would still be that they have run out of traffic for you for the day, especially if you increased your budget all the way to $500.

Or maybe it has to do with the "quality" issue.

Is it possible your ads are still running in other countries, but you don't see them where you are?

Whatever it is, I wouldn't expect a straight answer from Google.

You might try changing "show ads as fast as possible" to the opposite setting for a couple days and see what happens. I know that defies logic, but this is Adwords.

Chris, you mean run them in "standard mode"?

Yes the most frustrating thing is that they refuse to give you a definitive answer!!

It's like you go "How can I pay you more?"

And you get something like "Sorry I'm just going to stick to my script... I have no idea why you are having this problem... but the terms and conditions did state that we are not obliged to give you any details if anything goes wrong. Have a nice day!"

The first thought that pops in my head is quality and relevance of your ads.

Make sure that your ads are relevant to what you are promoting, your keywords, and your landing page. I have seen my ads stop the same way because of this.

I recommend picking up a copy of Ultimate Guide To Google Adwords by Perry Marshall. It helped me a lot with my campaigns.

Michael u mean u had experience where yr ads ran halfway then stopped every day?

The weird thing is... if there were any problems with the quality and relevance, I should have been penalized by rising CPCs and not stoppage...

In any case, I'll reread Perry's adwords guide... if I can find it somewhere in the pile of mess in my room... lol... that reminds me... time to do some spring cleaning...

Yeah, Perry Marshall guide is useful. It explains about how to make use of Google Adwords more effectively, instead of getting higher CPC.

Yes, I remember a time when my ads just plain stopped being served in the middle of the day. I don't recall the specifics about my CPC minimums being affected but my ads would continue to be displayed the next day and then stop out of no where again. I completely revamped my campaigns and picked up a copy of Ultimate Guide To Google Adwords.

This was a while ago and I don't remember the specifics about the campaign or what they were even for. All I can say is that I completely rewrote all of my ads, chose better keywords, and basically made everything more relevant. I changed everything even more after I read Perry Marshall's book.

The campaigns did fine after that and they didn't stop like before.

This might be happening because of your Click Through Rate. Maybe you can find an answer in the PPC section of the forum...

Don't forget to search in the old forum also: http://www.warriorforum.com/forum

Have you tried things like pausing the entire campaign for a day or 2? Then restart it and see what happens. It's Google, don't think too logically.

You might also try just pausing some ad groups.

Yes, the one that means "show my ads evenly throughout the day."

I'm not saying this will fix it, but my main idea is to change some things (even temporarily) and see if any of them get you more traffic. It's possible that some magic combination of changes will reset something that leads to you getting $100 worth instead of $50. It's like your current combination of settings is giving you $50, so maybe a different combo will do better.

Another thing to try- pause that campaign and create a new one with similar ads and keywords. Sometimes that works.

Is this something you're promoting as an affiliate? If your competitors are other affiliates running ads for the same URL, they might be day-parting and simply outbidding you at a specific time of day.
