Interesting Take On Drudge Report Web Design

Why the Drudge Report is one of the best designed sites on the web - (37signals)

Obviously it would depend on the type and purpose of a web site, but some good insights, nonetheless.

Good food for thought re blogs (which is really what Drudge is, IMO).

I've heard Drudge refered to as a blog before, but I don't agree. There is very little content, just links (unlike a blog which is usually mostly articles/posts) and it's not in chronological format like a blog. Links appear all over the page at various times, some staying for days, some just hours, and there is no pattern to it that I can see. It doesn't appear to run on blogging software. I don't see an RSS feed.

About the only thing it has in common with a blog is that it's on the Internet.

I'd call it a news aggregator, since it is mostly links to news articles and columns.
