How Best To Position Yourself in Social Media?

If you want to promote your business though social media, do you think its better to position yourself as an agent of your business, or just as "some guy"?

Positioning yourself as an agent of your business provides immediate brand exposure, and demonstrates authority in your niche, but could result in distrust due to a perceived bias or false agenda.

Positioning yourself as "some guy" integrates yourself into your target market without generating a perceived bias or agenda. On the other hand, you miss out on the immediate brand exposure, and authority...

What are your thoughts?

don't worry bro the forums have been real slow lately..hopefully everyone is out making money lol..

anyway the best way would be to position yourself as some guy who has started a new company.

but here is the kicker....you're not just any guy..you're a guy that has alot of value and quality to deliver.

make yourself appear to be at the apex of your industry.

when you speak speak in a one that says "i know what im talking about, what im talking about works, and if you want to succeed then you will listen to what im saying).

you can also get people to interview you..it can be a friend or another internet marketer (preferably somebody who already has a solid blog and or a list so that you can get instant exposure and credibility..Getting interviewed always makes anybody look like an instant guru...i dont really know why but it does work..im guessing people think if a guy is important enough to get interviewed then maybe he is important enough for them to follow..i dont know but it works..

and lastly deliver your material 1000000% different than how your competitors do. you can read about it in my blog down in my sig..

but basically the most creative person wins..be different i swear it works..

      ijustine.com is a prime example.

shes a nice looking girl who you would imagine would be stuck up and prissy but all of her content is delivered in a goofy whimsical format...and she makes over $2mil a year...Freaking little kid brats) lol

hey best of luck...if you need any help or advice..or hell you want to build a relationship...im here...

      to success my friend!

If you own the business you need to have other get involved with your social media marketing, without them knowing it. Such as employees, sponsors, partners, wholesalers, etc

You're there to provide answers and support for anything that comes up in the social media arena which does take monitoring.

Naturally this is for a business that you own and have employees. If this is a business that you own, but you work from home so something like that, then you need to make yourself an expert in the niche your business is in.

    Hope this helps.

I think it depends. Saying your one business can totally work. Some people favor the opinion of that "one guy". Others favor an agent. I doubt it really matters. As long as your business or whatever it is you do is good, than you should be fine. I myself would position myself as a business, but that's just me.

If you are just "some guy" going on about how good something is - well, sometimes word of mouth is still the best advertising. But if they ever find out that you have an interest in the business and didn't tell them, that could come back to bite you in the ass.

I think you are better off being honest, let people know it's your business, or you are an affiliate or some other way involved.

Be knowledgeable, help people with their problems, even better if you can give them the answers before they ask the questions.

Rich Jackson is right - be imaginative. Deliver your message differently. It will stand out and get a great deal more attention than doing the same thing that everyone else is doing.
