Can anyone help me find out if this niche is profitable? Thanks.

Hello...

There's a niche that I've been thinking about going into for quite a while, but I don't know whether it's a profitable niche or not.

You see, I'm an actor - I just finished doing a run on my first children's musical today... so sad to realize that I may be seeing my cast members for the last time.

Anyway... I was thinking about doing one of two things with my passion for acting and performing:

1. Create an infoproduct that teaches people how to create and market their own home-made movie and put it on You Tube, including how to write their own story line and find actors - sort of like forming their own production company.

2. The second idea I had was to actually form my own custom production company where people can e-mail me their own custom story line/script, I look at it, determine the budget/price to shoot it and then e-mail their custom video to them as a download (I will not do anything that's too... ahem... adult oriented).

The problem is, I don't if these ideas are profitable enough to go into or if there are enough "buyers" in this niche.

Also, if anyone else can figure out a profitable niche related to theatre/acting, I would definitely appreciate it!

I just did an analysis just using "learn acting online" and my excel formula gave it a 65?

My requirments are need to be 80-100 so I don't know. It would take more research but something is there just not a niche I'm interested in that's why this was a quick analysis.

I would suggest you learn more about internet marketing and start doing some research.

I think your first idea has great potential and there are about 15,000 people looking for "how to make a movie" per month (in the US).

I would maybe think about breaking your product up into more smaller reports as well so you can target specific parts of the market. People are going to be at different levels of knowledge and you might be able to help some but not the others.

"how to make a movie trailer" for example is one with pretty weak competition (but much lower searches). That could be a pretty specific report that you might be able to help with.

Break the process (that you probably already know) up into the small steps and then head over to the Google Keyword Tool to do some preliminary research. Create your reports to match each need. Capture the buyers into a mailing list - then sell them more reports.

The niche you are talking about also has huge potential for you-tube and other social media traffic so you won't just have to rely on Google - but it's a good start.
