Facebook Strategy - Do you think this is a good one?

Hi Warriors,
Well this Facebook strategy my be pretty straight forward and used by many, but I'd still like your thoughts...

Say your niche (for arguments sake) is Dog Food

1. Set up a new profile ie "Dog Food Alternatives"
2. Join as many Dog related Facebook groups/like pages as you can (in order of priority)
3. Post articles/content of interest on the walls of these groups that has some type of tracking link ie if they do decide to click on your URL after reading the article, it would have something like Welcome to DOGFOODALTERNATIVES.COM (unless there is a better tracking method)
4. Keep doing it... with the goal that people will forward the articles/content to their friends and it will go viral.

Ok... I know there are other Facebook strategies, but what are your thoughts on this one... any ways to improve it???

    Many times people won't just forward stuff to their friends, they have to be prompted. There are a lot of good scripts out here that will help prompt people to share.

    You can use Facebook scripts that give them something for hitting like. You could have it forward them to a coupon or something like that.

    It is not a question about the popularity of Facebook. Therefore, doing marketing in Facebook is very effective.

    I think this strategy will work well in general. Just make sure the articles are really worth it to share so they will not waste their time and share it to others. Best of luck to you.

    You can make a squeeze page for your FB page that entices them to "Like" rather than fill in an opt in. Works very well.
