How do I submit my article to social sites?

Hullo Warriors.
I'm relatively new to internet business, but determined to make it!
Gotta augment my pension somehow... lol.

Ok. I had an article published in Ezine Articles some time back, and have only just read that I should bookmark it on 'several social sites'... oh. Oops.

So. Do I take the url to my article (Get Clear About Your Best home-based Internet Business) and platz it in Facebook or what? Seems such a looong url.

I tried to put links on words in my squidoo lens (there's a name for that but it escapes me at present) but couldn't see how; it's not like posting to a blog where including links is easy.

My idea is to improve my ranking. Help, anyone?
Thanks,
Alison

    Hi Alison,

Congrats on taking a step into the online world of business. Stick with it and don't let information overload and other seemingly great programs distract you from succeeding.

Although you published an article in Ezine Articles, yes maybe you should bookmark it. You don't have to. It's entirely your choice. However, bookmarking will help get your article noticed and will also contribute some link love to it. Great for SEO purposes. There are lots of ways to do this. With that said, if you're really only starting out I wouldn't go too much into it right now. Take baby steps.

So maybe consider creating 3 accounts...

    • StumbleUpon
    • Digg
    • Delicious

You'll need a title, description, tags and the URL you want to promote. It's simple enough. But it is extremely boring...

You could do more. But be careful not to fall into the trap of focusing too much on this as this will only take you away from doing other stuff to promote your site. Stick with these three, or three of your choice. If you insist on doing more of it then there a free semi-automated online site to help: SocialMarker.com.

    Another thing...

Do you have a strategy or plan in place to promote your website?

If not, then consider putting a simple plan together. When I first started I would write an article, put it into an article directory and hope that something would come of this. It never did. Then I started to submit a few articles. This did better, but not great. Then I began bookmarking the articles. This was better, but time consuming.

I then began setting up backlinks to my articles, along with bookmarking. This was even better again. But all was time consuming. Between my job and doing this stuff online, I was just getting frustrated.

I don't know your situation. But regardless, try to put a simple plan together. Aim to make a small amount of money. Then try to reinvest that money into outsourcing some of the work. This can be done through this forum. Keep working, reinvesting and expanding your plan of action a bit at a time so you don't feel overwhelmed or get snowed under.

    Moving onto linking in Squidoo...

It's a while since I used Squidoo. However, as far as I know (unless someone here knows otherwise) you can still use HTML to make your text bold, italic, underlined or a link.

When making words into text (anchor text link), here is the cond to use:

<a href="xxxx">You Text Here That You Want Linked</a>

Where you see "xxxx" - replace this with "http://www.YourWebsite.com"

Then replace the text between the '> <' with your keywords.

Alison, I hope this helps in some way.
