First Amazon Sale

Woohoo, have just made my first Amazon commission. Princely sum of $4.68 on a $117 sale.
The sale was on something totally unrelated to what is advertised on my website, so I guess just having people click on one of my links can take them anywhere.
I feel newly inspired now, after starting to think that no sales would ever come from my site.

    Thats great!

    Your making a sell for a product unrealted to your site is fairly common but I think the most important thing about that is it shows you how well Amazon converts in general.

    Woo hoo - well done! I received my first check from Amazon yesterday - it was so nice holding that in my hand. It was only just over the $100 threshold but that's ok \

      Congrats ! Keep it up and create more sites ! Learn as much about keyword research as you can, and how to analyze your competion on the first page of google results. Master those 2 things and you got it made in the shade.

    Congratulations, Infomaniacs, you beat me out. I had my first Amazon sale a few days ago and the commission was only $1.32. It sure felt good though. Like yours, it was for something unrelated to my site. I only had 3 or 4 Amazon links on the site, one each on 3 or 4 of my 40 or so posts on my 2 month old blog. I have since added an Amazon widget in a sidebar, but haven't gotten any more sales. I don't have much trafic yet though. I am hopeful we can both (and all the rest of you newbies out there) do much better in the future, as we get better at this.
