Why use multiple accounts for CB & more

I wanted to know what the rationale is behind maintaining multiple accounts with ClickBank or Adsense, or whatever else. Is it so that if something goes wrong, only one account is shutdown? Is it for ease of tracking?

Do keep one account per niche that you are in?

There are "myths" that multiple accounts help with (alleged) Clickbank hickups...eg. the old myth that an old account all of a sudden would not generate any sales...while an alternative Account would still work. So people see sales dropping and switch to another account. I consider this an urban myth

Then there are people who have LOTS of CB accounts and cycle them to artificially increase their own gravity for a product.

      ^^^ This.

Vendors typically want a new account for each product, because although it's not strictly "necessary", it's actually the only way to have more than one marketplace listing (and more than one commission rate).

For affiliates, it's less easy to understand.

The affiliates I know well with more than one account (three different people, all former clients) have all opened their subsequent accounts because of affiliate tracking problems on their initial accounts. One of them was getting 10 - 12 sales per day, when literally overnight this dropped to zero. At my suggestion, having read about this elsewhere many times, he opened a new affiliate account and had the problem of replacing his hoplinks (at great inconvenience) but as soon as he did so, he was immediately back up from zero to about 12 sales per day again. This isn't an atypical story, by any means.

Respectfully, Georg, I don't agree with you at all, this time: I've seen much too much indirect evidence of it, myself, to take seriously the possibility that it's a myth.

Can anyone provide a list of good clickbank alternates? I am having a problem with some of the click bank products which might not be good according to Forum reviews on the net for particular products promoted by clickbank.

Ok, so she beat me to it. Probably the three biggest reasons vendors have multiple CB accounts is:

        1. You can only set ONE commission rate per account. If you want to offer a different commission for a different product, you will need a new account.

        2. It keeps things organised and easy to follow. I will usually have a separate account for each main product/niche I am selling.

        3. I can tell the girls at the bar that I have multiple CB accounts... work's every time.

For what purpose? Ease of anlaytics/tracking?

I'm just wondering because in proof screenshots/videos, you always see people log into multiple accounts.

        For different products.
It's better to have new account for each product, because it will give exposure to your product on CB.

Some site like CBEngine will announce new product to their subscribers.

For affiliate, I'm not sure why they do that. Perhaps to easily tracking the marketing methods.
