My 6 Step Recovery Program For A Failing Affiliate

Ok, I’m gonna get real straight with you here.. if you are earning as an affiliate and don’t need any help.. then walk on by, this post probably ain’t for you at all.. this post is specifically for those affiliates who are struggling to make moves in this industry.

Are you struggling? Then read on.

Below you will find my 6 step recovery program for a failing affiliate!

Step 1: Take a step back

If you have been struggling along with no direction and feeling like nothing is working, you are probably right, it isn’t working and I will tell you why. a definitive plan of action is the only real way to make any kind of consistent money online, when you really get this you will soon be on your road to recovery.

But what I want you to do right now is take that step back and take a long, hard look at your efforts so far, did some things work?.. did you make some sales?..

If you did then you need to take note of what happened and where, what niche, what product and what strategy.. you see this comes down to knowing your metrics, if I had only one sale today, I would be able to follow that along in my stats to see EXACTLY where that traffic came from to give me the sale and I would focus on that.

Say for example: The sale came from a squidoo lens, about dieting to product 1 out of a 3 product review page.. yeah?

My next action would be to stop EVERYTHING else that didn’t contribute to that sale and put it on the back burner whilst I put more effort into squidoo traffic. If squidoo traffic brought me one sale, it can bring me more.

Step 2: Choose one method that has proven to work

If you know for sure from the above that you have one method that really works and has produced sales for you, then you really need to be decisive and have that as your primary method of promotion. Regardless of what method it is, you need to have one direction. Anything else, other niche’s, other strategies can come later when you are in positive cash flow.. but right now you want a method to make your own.

Step 3: Turn yourself into a cruise missile

We have established above right now that you are going to stop everything else that you have been doing that is not working, right?.. and you have chosen one strategy that has worked in the past for you or on my recommendation so you know for sure that it has worked previously, if it worked for others it will work for you with the right application on your part.

What you need to do here is literally transform yourself into a cruise missile..
make your business plan for each and every day, no matter what time you have for internet marketing, engineer that time so it is:

a) Productive
b) Targeted to your chosen strategy

Once you have this in place, you can break your work into twenty minute spells if you wish, or hour stints, it doesn’t matter. What matters is the time you put into your business is focused on implementing and applying your chosen strategy into income producing activity.

You should now have your aim and be ready to roll. Write out in your own words exactly how you are going to transfer the instructions in the product into your plan of action.

You need to define the chosen strategy into your words and a daily action plan so you know how you are going to take the required action.. IN YOUR WORDS.. you will understand it better that way..

Step 4: Get rid of that flying bird inside you

Everybody knows that birds are attracted to bright, shiny objects. And that is where you are at I would guess?.. seeing all the forum talk of this plan and that method and how you can do this, that the other and some more if you wold just blah, blah, blah..

When you see ANYTHING that isn’t congruent to growing your web presence within your chosen strategy.. IGNORE IT and laugh in the face of the distraction. You have your chosen strategy and that is all you need right now.

Don’t let anything catch your eye or lead you astray, put your blinkers on and get into action making cash, we know from the choices made above that we have a strategy that is going to work, we just need the right application.

Step 5: Brainstorm every morning on plain paper

This may seem like the most insane thing ever considering we work at our computers all day long, but do this for me.. please.. Get yourself a notepad of A4 size or upwards, and each morning you can grab a pen and simply brainstorm/braindump onto that paper, just write for writing sake whatever comes into your mind, be that marketing or products or niche or dogs.. just write and get your creativity flowing.

If you have read this far then I KNOW you are a struggling affiliate, so just give this a try, if you are prepared to bang your head against the wall for this, then surely you can do yourself a favour and implement this refreshing task into your day. You’ll be surprised at what you get from it, not only in terms of ideas, but also in terms of clarity too

Do this in the morning or just twenty minutes before you start working on your I.M. business.. you’ll be glad you added this into your day for sure.

Step 6: Take action and track your results (This is a MEGA important step)

In all the confusion and taking action, it can be easy to just take action blindly and not assess where you are going with something, if you are even going anywhere at all. So.. you have your chosen strategy and you are laser focused like a cruise missile, right?

What you want is results, so once a week you need to monitor your metrics, traffic, stats, opt-ins and sales. If you find that you are still not getting results.. then drop a comment RIGHT HERE on this forum post or PM me and I will personally get with you to check real quick if you are taking the right action and implementing your chosen strategy well, I don't have all day to hold your hand, but I can take question and give you my thoughts for sure....

Taking action is completely useless if you aren’t taking the right action, so don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help, the only stupid questions are ones that don’t get asked

Take action, track your results, metrics and stats.. and fail fast. If you are doing something wrong.. then do it quickly and ask for guidance..

Wow, thank you for this kick in the pants. I would say that even if you are making good money in affiliate marketing, it would be wise to take this advise in order to tune your affiliate marketing engine. I'm implementing this immediately.
