Default PPC and quality score

Hi - I have a question for those that are good with ppc. I'm not a total newbie but I'm fairly new to ppc. I know this might be hard since I'm not providing links but let me know your opinion if you have one.

I decided to see if I could get a new product to convert so I set up a ppc campaign at a general domain at "mydomain.com/niche". It is basically just a wordpress blog with one post advertising the product. The ppc campaign was going fine and I got high quality scores well more like OK but 6's and 7's so it wasn't a problem or anything.

So I decided to buy a domain in this niche so I installed a different wordpress theme. I copied the same post from the other landing page but added a personal story of why the product is good which was about 3 paragraphs. The addition was related content that did have keywords. Okay so now the same exact campaign is getting quality scores of 1-3 and not showing.

I am guessing this is because of the 3 paragraphs I added - but I really thought that they would help. Is there any chance that it is the wordpress theme itself?

Let me know if you have thoughts.

Here is what I think happened. You were advertising on an established
site with backlinks and that was already getting some free organic traffic.

Then you switched to a brand new domain name that had no previous
history.

Google liked the previous more established site better

Question: did the Quality Score drop immediately (i.e. as soon as you switched the ads) or after a few days?

Hey Lindsay, I agree with what affhelper said about google liking the other domain. If that isnt the case, is the old one more optimized for your keywords, did you use all in one seo? how about google sitemaps. What other pages did you have in the domain? Google is really picky so making changes can sometimes cause a lot of trouble. If you immediately put up new ads and took off the old ones that can affect your QS too (this is info I got from Amit Mehta) you should move things slowly. If you want to chat by im and maybe talk more about it, im usually on as ticklebug82 on aim and yahoo, but often away or invisible. Just im me.

Good luck,
Mary
