It's a Start - First Amazon Affiliate Sale

Everyone has to start somewhere. I made my first sale, via a click through from one of my websites, in my Amazon affiliate account.

Onward and upward. Hopefully ...

Congratulations! I'm sure there'll be many more to come (Amazon is good at converting any traffic you send their way )

Congrats! I just started making my first sales about 2 months ago. Now it seems like I'm checking my account every few hours to see if I've made more sales. I've got the bump from 4% to 6% commission, but haven't made it to 6.5% yet.

You got your sale, so you know you're doing something right. Keep moving forward!

The Gods are favoring me at the moment. I have another new sale today.

Quick question: This sale item was not one of my link-through items, but an item from a completely different category. If someone clicks through to Amazon but then wanders elsewhere on the site and buys something else I assume the click thru affiliate account still gets some credit?

Good job. Yes, you shall get full credit even if it was something that you were not selling in Amazon but the customer initially went through your link.

Amazon is great in this way - tremendous, to be honest. You shall end up selling toy elephants while you would be trying to sell green apples - That's Amazon for you

Ups! It is good and a sweet thing when one makes his first sale.I tell you it is an encouraging experience,as it tells you ''more is on the way",and for amazon, I guarantee you that more is definitely yet to come.

It's great to know that my click thru generates income regardless of the ultimate Amazon purchase. Great news.

    Thanks for the kind words!

Congratulations! I remember that sweet feeling of success when I got my first sale as an eBay partner network member. That 8 cents is the most exciting sale I ever got! And like with Amazon, the purchaser bought something completely different at eBay than what they clicked on at my website.

Diane: I submitted for an eBay partner account several days ago, but have not heard back. Do you know how long their process of approval is?

In my experience it can take anywhere from a couple of days to about 2 weeks, I imagine they are overwhelmed with a ton of new affiliate accounts this time of year.

Great job! The 24 hour cookie is such a nice bonus too! You'll find that as you get more volume to your Amazon links, you'll find that a large percentage of your sales will be from unrelated products...Gotta love it!

Congratulations on your first two sales! The amazon cookies certainly help, as they carry so many items that might interest the people you send there.

Amazon really is a numbers game because of the low commission rates, especially when you're first starting out, so keep building more of those sites so that you can build up your income gradually over time!
