This email problem is losing me a valuable JV partner and $$$!

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help me out with an email problem. I usually contact a very important JV partner every December so I can set up a special offer for his lists. It's like a tradition for us.

But my email keeps on getting undelivered! I tried another email of mine and another email of his, but it still won't go through. I can't seem to find his contact number either.

I thought this was a lost case; but then I got an email from him today and he's asking if I'm doing anything special for him this year. I replied back and it's still the same email delivery problem. It says:

"Sorry, I couldn't find a mail exchanger or IP address."

Could anyone make a suggestion on how I can get back to my partner? Much appreciated!

This sort of thing happens occasionally with customers or other contacts, and they wonder why you're not getting back to them.

In the vast majority of cases, if I Google the person, I tend to find another way to contact them such as:

- website contact form
- phone
- fax
- twitter
- facebook
- alternative email address
- PayPal email address

...and of course WF private message if they're on here.

How about contacting the web host of his site and let them know about the IP problem. They may be able to fix it or at least let their client know about it.

Michael,

Good info above, but here's another idea...

If you got an email from him, copy that exact email address out.

Setup a new gmail, yahoo or something account - NOT the same that you use now.

Use that email address to send to the one you copied from his email - put your name in the subject line so he knows its you.

Arrange to hook up on skype or another way outside of email asap.

Thanks for everything. I tried using my yahoo email and didn't get a "failure to deliver" email notice. (I got the failure notice before using this same email). Fingers crossed it gets sent this time. Thanks so much!

Its most likely a PORT issue. Call your ISP and ask them what is the default port they like to use.

Most mail platforms use port 25 for outgoing emails. This port is sometimes recognized as frequently used by spammers and your ISP might be blocking it.

Also you can just test by changing it to PORT 26.
