Difference between submitting articles on ezine and posting it on my own blog

Hey Guys,
Ive decided to step into article marketing. Planning to promote clickbank products. Im a little confused with the two methods that are being practiced.

#1: Typing articles with the product link in the end and submitting it to articles directories

#2: typing articles and posting it on my own blog and also on article directories.

What is the difference between the two. Why run a own blog when i can post it directly to ezine or elsewhere. And also when im using a blog, the articles that i submit on ezine, should they be linked to my blog or directly to the sales page of the product. Whats the point of linking it to my blog and then through my blog linking it to the sales page of the product?.

Im really confused with which method should i adopt and start.
It would be great if you guys could explain the same.

Cheers

I think that every single question you've asked is actually answered in this thread, if you read it carefully enough.

Your blog is the first most important thing that you should give importance to. The reason why you post on EZA is to get backlinks.

If your blog is on the first page of Google it has chances of becoming an authority soon. Moreover, you will get tons of visitors if your blog is listed and indexed well with lots of backlinks. In fact, you will get visitors even for keywords that you've not optimized.

Lastly, you can sell your blog with a credibility of having good rankings. You will be paid way more than you actually expect.

Your blog is THE THING. Ezinearticles is just a push of visitors for your blog. It won't last long without building links. Building links for a site other than yours is called rubbish ideas.

        Hi,

What are you trying to accomplish, exactly? If you are trying to make money with affiliate products most people have their own blog that has all the information related to their niche neatly organized but the problem is no one knows you exist. eZine has information on every topic imaginable.

A website like eZine articles has a lot of eyeballs on it everyday and when someone searches your term in Google or anywhere else eZine may come up first in the search engine.

If you have your own blog about "sea scallops" then most people cannot find it because if you Google a search term like "sea scallops" and your blog is new, it won't be on the 1st page so people use a reliable site like eZine to drive traffic to their own site because it often lands on the 1st page of Google.

        USER ---> SEARCH ENGINE ---> EZINE ---> BLOG ---> RELATIONSHIP ---> SALE?!

So if they read the eZine article & like what you have to say they may visit your blog regularly and maybe you get a click and sell something. The eZine article just works the appetite. The article on your blog is to get people deeper into your topic & develop a relationship and return traffic.

        Hope this helps

You can....Or you could re-read the thread Alexa gave you and see the enormous amount of highly experienced article marketers posting the article to their site/blog, indexing it there first and then posting it to EZA et al.

    There's a huge difference.

The article directory has a huge authority because of it's size, it's age, and the weight of the links coming from it. It has a high page rank and links to a variety of sources.

This provides backlinks for your website and increases ranking.

If you post it just on your blog - you will be building content and authority slowly, and not be receiving backlinks to your website as well.

The best idea is to submit it to both. As long as it's your content, it won't hurt a thing, only syndicate your content across the net, which is something good in Google's eyes.

Yes, submitting it on both on EZA and your own blog is effective.

If you're going to use EzineArticles.com then from their own editorial guidelines:
Affiliate links will be allowed if the link is a domain name you own...

So if you submit to them you need to link somewhere to a site/blog you own and then on to the affiliate offer.

Other article directories can be more lenient but since you mentioned Ezine.

Well, unless you do a redirect from the top level domain, you can't direct link as an affiliate from ezinearticles, though you can with some other article directories and other sites that you can use for posting articles, so that answers that question.

But it's not an option of ezine or blog. If you really want to get the best out of article marketing and build authority to your site, post a lot of articles to many different directories and have the links pointing back to your blog.

Of course you could always find a place for your article that will rank easily and also allows you to direct link with affiliate links and then point links to that article and try it that way, but of course if it's not your site remember your content can always be pulled.

Read up a bit more and learn all the options available to you. Remember you can post articles on free blogging sites as well, besides article directories.
