Buying Lists - Is this reccomended?

Excuse my noobishness but I am doing my best to learn as fast as I can.

In your experience is buying somone elses email list a good or bad idea?
If you don't mind, what are some of the reasonfor or against it?

Aside from developing your own list, are there better options? Perhaps a co-op?

If buying a list IS a good idea, how is the pirce calculated??

Thanks in advance!

    Well,

There's no way to calculate a list price... people will determine it's value based on responsiveness, how many are buyers, and a bunch of other criteria ... so it's best just to ask.

As far as is it a good traffic source - again, that depends on the list, and the reputation of the list owner you're buying from.

Like all traffic sources (paid and free) quality varies.

Go for solo ads....They are much more targeted and more responsive. Buy list outright may make you look like a spammer
