Need Domain Name Advice

Lets say my keyword is Pro Athlete

Should I get:

ProAthleteDB
or
IPADB (which would stant for Internet Pro Athlete Database)

I like the shortness/hipness of the IPADB version, but I also like keyword in the domain.....

What say ye Warriors?

I would go with the keyword in the domain name if possible. It is difficult to find any short .com domain names these days.I would use the keyword and put info, review, tips or something like that in it.

    ProAthletereview.com
    ProAthleteinfo.com
    ProAthletetips.com

    Hi Tommen,

Thanks for the advice. I have in teh past gone with Review, Info, Store, Sale, Site etc at the, however, in this particualr it actualy IS a database, not a niche site.

Obviously it's not pro althetes, but I'm going to build a 'real' site with a database of all the different variations of the product (and there are a lot).

That's a tough one actually - generally I would say go for the one with the keywords in the domain, but I do like the other one and if you could build up a good name then people would get to know that. However, you would be able to rank easier if you have the keywords in the domain!

Sorry, not much help really am I

"IPADB" does sound like an "iPad" related website. Hipness is cool, and you can try a short and smart name with the combination of not generic domains such as with a .pro domain, "AthleteDB.pro" or "AthleteDatabase.pro"

The internet is expanding and having a ".com" is not mandatory. Also most dictionary domains are taken. If you stick with a .com, then try searching on expired domains list: stuckdomains.com

Thanks all, still undecided, although I am leaning toward the acronym version....

tamalanwar - the keyword isn't actually Pro Athlete, so it wouldn't be IPADB, that's just an example. As another example let say it was Power Lawnmower, which would be would be IPLDB.

So it's a two word keyword and I was looking at use the first letters of the two words in the IXXDB acronym.
