Hi warriors, this is Tamal and I'd like to share my experience with you about wordpress and ThesisTheme. Wordpress and Thesis is capable of creating corporate sites, blogs, websites that don't look like blogs, squeeze affiliate sites and many more.

what is framework?

if someone make child theme based on thesis, he/she can sell it?

and the buyer MUST buy thesis too?

anyway, love the theme, the price is a little bit off, but i guess it's worth it

How do I set up Thesis so that I can some pages with no sidebars, some pages with 1 sidebar and some with 2?

Sandy, you can create a layout with 1 sidebars to be default. And on pages where you want no sidebars, select it from template "no sidebars"

For pages in 2 sidebars, that's like the 3rd setup, you have to create a new page template.

Sandy, Thesis allows you to create page templates with 1, 2 or 3 columns (you can specify the column widths as well), and you can use any combination of these on your website as desired. It is amazingly flexible, and you'd not need any knowledge of html and css in order to pull this off.

Hi,

I have Thesis 1.8 installed.

I have a site which has 750 posts.

I want to put six of them on a page that has no sidebars and the rest on pages that have one sidebar.

I have tried to do it, but all the posts ended up with no sidebar.

Any idea what I need to do to get what I'm after.

next delete those 6 posts and recheck the pages that are having similar url, so you have replaced the posts into pages, having same permalink url and you have set them as no sidebars. will also keep the SEO unchanged

Yeah child themes require the main thesis layout. So you are purchasing thesis theme ($87) + a child theme for around $40.

The web is going after Thesis and when you have used it for such time, you should feel its worth the money.

DIYthemes are right, its the last theme you will ever need for your wordpress site.

As far as graphic design goes, is it easy to import them specially if I want different headers and footer in different pages?

  Thesis + wordpress shows the same header/logo in all pages. But if you want exceptions, you have to use a custom php function to remove the default header and replace it with another image. Such as with the "if" function: if "page ID" remove the header logo and show this image.
  
  I'm not that good at PHP, you get an expert help or search on some other design forums for the solutions. With thesis, you have to change only the custom files, so you always stay on the safe side.

Thank you for your kind offer to share some of your expertise with us. I just had a look at the link in your signature. Was this website created with the "Thesis" theme? Is the thesis theme compatible with RTL languages? Can this theme be used with a custom banner in any dimension?

You see with thesis theme, you can set your own dimension for the content and sidebar column, and the with of the page will be (sidebar+content+some padding)

You can set any banner/logo size. The logo always stays in the left top section, you can also make it appear in the middle.

With the hooks its easy to put different elements in diff sections.

By RTL, I didn't got what you said, but I know it supports all the language which wordpress does.
