Whats a good Search Number for Offline Biz?

Whats a good number of daily or monthly searches for an offline business? I know its a vague question, but I am trying to gauge whats a good number to strive for when evaluating searches for a local market in a large city.

    Personally, I would run Adwords ads in the markets they want to target and find out for sure. That's just me though. If they don't have a site, then send them to a competitor.

    Ok, now to actually try answer your question.

    It all depends on where you are and what keywords your choosing. I would remember that your dealing with an offline business so pick your words accordingly. For example, "Dallas Jeweler" "Dallas diamond exchange" etc etc. for keywords like that (just example but you get the idea) your going to find that search page numbers arn't really going too matter that much, they will almost always be very doable. The key is to find those keywords like that that are related to your business with 2000+ or more searches a day. You find that combination for your offline clients and your in business.

    When I am going for global searches 48 million in the search results is doable for me. The key is just making sure your not going up against the "800 pound Gorilla's" i.e. brand names, super old domains with tons and tons of backlinks etc etc. With more local search type keywords, you might find a couple of your results in the million mark, don't let it shy you away from the keyword just might have to put a touch more work into it.

      I don't see how that tells you anything about a local market.

      I've compared wordtracker results to an unlimited Adwords budget with exact match. The numbers are not even in the same ballpark usually.

      So you can either guess...or find out for sure. I guess it just depends on how much money you're about to sink into the project. For me, I'd like to know something more concrete.

      Because "Concrete San Jose" is the only way you can identify a local search in WT. It's NOT the only way to identify local searches in Adwords.

        Do you have a number or set base of numbers that you go by before you even begin to investigate further? Like I know if you see 5000 exact match for a local search I'm sure thats a slam dunk, but if you only see 5 then I'm sure you probably would try something else...I am just trying to get a base to start building around
