Is It Safe To Provide Affiliates With Reviews Of Your Product?

Hello,
I have seen a number of Clickbank merchants provide affiliates with different style reviews of their products for the affiliates to use or tweak them to promote their products.

Example: Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle, Fat Loss

Should there be any kind of disclaimer to go along with this? With the FTC now wanting bloggers to reveal that they are getting commissions on writing reviews, would these reviews provided by the merchants themselves cause any kind of problems?

Would that be the same case for someone providing their affiliates with review videos?

Example: Only Available for 72 Hours...

Interested in getting some feedback.

If the review is covering the general information on what is covered on a product, I don't think that is an issue. At that point it really isn't a review but more of a course outline or product description.

If however, that review includes a testimonial of some sort - IE "My conversions went through the roof" or " I did the diet plan myself and lost 200 lbs" then that is another story.

The "scam" review is very matter of fact.

He has a disclaimer on the testimonial review:

*Please Note: This is a fictitious person and a fictitious review. Please do NOT copy and paste this review word for word. This is meant to be used as an example or a template, for how to write a good testimonial review.

I believe the onus lays on the affiliate. If they choose to use that review on their website, they must adhere to the FTC rulings and include a disclaimer.

If the affiliate is not comfortable using some of the promotional materials the vendor has provided, then they should create their own.
