Any problems with this redirect idea?

For a new product that I'm releasing soon, I want to set the homepage as a squeeze page but I'd like to redirect returning visitors (after opting in) directly to the sales page.

Seems easy enough to me.

Set the cookie on the opt-in confirmation page and then use a script on the homepage to look for the cookie and redirect within the site accordingly.

Are there any negatives to this at all? i.e. search engine spiders?

Some users have cookies turned off.

Thanks Will since I hadn't consider that yet.

I'm hoping for more feedback but I'd like to consider all potential issues and make sure none of them are a show stopper.

But pretty much all online marketing hinges off of cookies these days.

And the worst that would happen is that they go to the squeeze page again.

Plus, I would not be sending people directly to the homepage and relying on the cookie to do the work for me. To me, it's just another net to get people into my funnel.
