Cheapest price to make a product?

I was thinking of making a product on something I know a lot about. It wouldn't be long maybe 60-80 pages. I'm a terrible writer so I would have to outsource that, along with the sales letter, minisite, etc. I mean, this sounds pretty expensive. I was just looking at some of our fellow Warriors under the hire section and I found some good stuff. Was wondering though if I could make a legit product for 500$? I was going to use clickbank to sell it. I think offering a lot of tools for affiliates is key, so I'm going to add a lot.

    For sure. Your main expense will be the ghostwriter since you're not going to write yourself.

    Do a search for Semmy here, he does great looking mini-sites for an incredible price.

    Graphics will around $50-$100
    ClickBank fee will be $50.
    Domain around $8

    Ghostwriter fee will depend on the experience and skill of the writer.

    You'll need hosting if you don't have it. Check Host Gator.

    It can be ... it can pay off big-time, too. I offer one tip: if you want to maximise the potential, expect to spend more on the sales copy than on everything else added together (and then some). Good luck!

      I second what Alexa says. Your sales page is going to be the first thing that people see about your product, and first impressions really count for a lot in internet marketing. Present a bland and unappealing sales page, and people will click away faster than you can say, "what happened?"

      I'm going to just give you a short summary here - your sales letter has to be interesting and engaging, with a strong sense of WIIFM (what's in it for me), and finally a strong call to action towards the end. If your product is even half as good as the sales page, you should see strong sales with minimal refunds on it.

    Before spending any money on your project you should make sure there is a starving crowd looking for a solution first. Not knowing what your book is about I cannot obviously answer that but there are so many people who start with the product and then try to find the crowd.

    Do some research and find the starving crowd, then figure out what they want. It's much easier that way...

    Some questions you need to answer are:

    1) Who is your market?
    2) Where do they hang out?
    3) What are there questions?
    4) What are their concerns?
    5) What other solutions are being offered?
    6) From the other solutions offered what are their strengths?
    7) From the other solutions offered what are their weaknesses?
    8) What can you do better than your competitors?
    9) What is your USP?
    10) What are the keywords people use to search for the solution?
    11) How many searches are there per month?

    This is just a start but should get you going in the right direction before spending any money on this project at all...

    Yup, definitely do your market research first and foremost if you haven't done it already. There have been many a crappy products sold with excellent marketing.

    Do yourself a favor and create a "fake" sales page with everything on it as if the product were already produced. When people click through to buy it (have them opt in) say something like "thanks for your interest, but the _____ book is currently unavailable. You will be notified as soon as it's available." something like that. Then you'll have a buyers list that will be very interested in your book right away, and have a gauge on what kind of market potential there is.
