Facebook FanPages - FBML Discontinued?

INTERNET MARKETING

So I read that Facebook is discontinuing the FBML thing used for their fan pages by the end of this year.... So I was wondering, how will the new FanPages work? And how will we (designers) will be able to produce the new ones?

What do you think guys?

I've known that Facebook would be taking out FBML for a while now. I don't think it will cause much of a problem for most FB devs. As for fanpages, I'm sure there will be an acceptable alternative available.

There was a dev post last Friday night, they've pushed the fbml transition to next year. It used to be on the roadmap for q4 2010 but it's now listed as by the end of q1 2011.

The take-away from the article is that instead of FBML, developers will use a combination of HTML and javascript inside an iframe...it definitely does sound like an opportunity, given the popularity of fan pages in IM.
