What would YOU do with 10 pairs of tube socks?

Seems like everytime I login to the forum and browse, I see a new "what would you do if..." post. Lately, it's more of the, "What would you do with $1,000,000 and how would you use that to market a business?"

If you have that kind of cash and you're looking for insight in the general area of the Warrior Forum on how you should budget that, you probably should take a few steps back and consider your position. Not to say that people here don't know what they're talking about (because many of them very well DO), but with that kind of money, I wouldn't be looking for solutions by a general post.

Just a mini-rant. That is all.

I'd wear them, if I liked them.

Otherwise, I'm thinking sock puppets. I could do a YouTube video and link that to my website, where I'll have an affiliate link where people can buy their own tube socks and accessories to make their own sock puppets.

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

It makes me think that the majority of these posts are only hypothetical ones, where the posters are just dreaming and hypothesizing about what they would do. While it's nice to daydream, it's completely unconstructive and an utter waste of your time. It'd be much better to spend your time doing constructive things instead that will actively build and grow your business instead.

Agreed. I've just seen way too many "what if" posts that don't really produce any results. Like I said, if you've really got THAT much cash to spend, you probably wouldn't be here looking for people's opinion.

It's almost like they are window shopping. By the time someone has accumulated that much cash, they'd have very specific business experience in whatever field of IM they're in, and would not be looking for generic IM advice here. This would be the last place they'd go to gain additional high-level expertise in their field.

I'd see if I could sell them to the Red Hot Chile Peppers.

Thats exactly where my mind went. You know what they say, great minds think alike, sadly the opposite is also true, stupid minds think alike.

Right on Paulie. A ton of the threads you see in the general forum are pretty much just time wasters these days. This is a forum to make money, people!

Couldn't agree more. There are way too many tire-kickers around who are just trying to dip their toes in the water, and I suppose as the economy remains in its present state, we'll no doubt see many more making their appearance here in the coming months.

You can also decorate them with Christmas glitter and bows and hang them on the mantle for Santa to fill up on Christmas Eve.

        LOVE the sock puppet ideas!

They could become affiliate spokespuppets and sell stuff, too.

I'd take those ten socks, and go buy ten more, then make a tube-sock monkey. He is my monkey and I shall call him the Flinger. He'll be what I throw at my woman for telling me to stop marketing for the day.

Paul, maybe I'm just more cynical than you are, but I always think it's someone who just read one of those 'how to get others to create products for you' reports. Now they think they have a clever question, they'll collect lots of answers and bundle them into a WSO.

Follows along the same lines as the hypothetical "if you had to start over" scenarios that pop up from time to time.

Several people have said make sock puppets. Some have said to gift them out.

This time of year kits of all types are very popular... maybe a build your own sock puppet or sock monkey kit. Sell it on eBay, amazon etc.

Course it would require some more materials... but they should be easy enough to find.

Yup, this is just what info product creation folks teach all the tiem. But at least I am not seeing those, "What is your most burning question about . . " quite so much anymore.

Although, maybe there could be a thread about "What is your most burning question about what to do with tube socks?"

You could be right, John - there might be a few shrewd product creators out there looking for creative input on products that they have in the pipeline. However, in every instance that I've encountered (I could have missed out on some, of course), they seemed to be clueless newbies with low post counts that had no idea what they were doing, going by their original posts and the subsequent replies that they posted.
