How does Google view replicated pages for affiliates?

2 replies
Would it work to build an affiliate site that had auto replicated pages for affiliates but also did SEO, site keyword content, article marketing, etc?

Does google view the replicated pages as duplicate content making the SEO, backlink building, etc as virtually meaningless?

Some affiliate programs give new members a page to advertise such as affiliateprogram.com/member1 and affiliateprogram.com/member2. The theory is this helps newbies have a page to promote their own affiliate url. I don't think I have ever seen one of these sites also doing their own SEO unless I am missing something. You usually see affiliateprogram.com in the number 1 spot for "affilaliteprogram" but could they also get top spots for keywords on internal pages with content?

I hope these questions makes sense.

    You definitely don't want SE's to index duplicate pages within your own site. Just put the following META tag in the header of each duplicate page to block the SE's from indexing that page, and you're good to go...

    <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">
