Where to get Microsoft Office.......

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm looking for the cheapest, legal, place to get microsoft office 2007. Not a download, but acutally order it and get it in a sealed box-type deal.

And anyone know the difference between the student version and the professional version? I've always had the professional versions, but don't use half the stuff that comes with it.

Okay, thanks. I do use Excel and powerpoint on occasion. I just didn't realize the student version had it. I hate Outlook and never use it. What exactly does Publisher do?

  Don't mean to tease you but - IF YOU HAVEN'T USED IT BEFORE - YOU PROBABLY WON'T USE IT NOW

They have changed their pages around lately so I no longer have
the link, but if you pursue info a bit they used to have a list of
retailers selling office products down to around half of what MS
charges for them.

  If you live in any major city in north america, you can go to your local computer hardware supplier, (wholesaler), and ask how you can purchase an OEM version. Normally, you have to purchase something like a hard drive cable to satisfy the legal requirements of MS (not kidding!), and you can get Office 2007 Small Business edition for under $300.

One thing about OpenOffice - there is no email program like Outlook in it, for some odd reason.

I found some other free programs that are supposed to be Outlook clones, but none could work with a real Outlook data file or import from it, although they were supposed to have that feature.

I'll third (fourth?) the motion for Open Office. Light weight, FREE and handles anything you can throw at it. They recently release v. 3.0. I've been using it for several years and recommend it over giving Redmond even MORE of your money...

BTW, has anyone tried opening a CSV file in OpenOffice's spreadsheet? If so you are ahead of me... what is a simple task in Excel seems impossible in OO.
