Systemizing Your Business - I Think This is the Key

Up until recently, I did everything ... the uploadings, optimization, writing, promotion... everything.

I've started putting more work in the hands of others. I pay my writers to upload my articles to drafts using a Contributor account, and pay for social bookmarks, press release submission, and now I'm outsourcing for my employer. I keep a close control over the final result but my time is freed up to do more things and now I'm allowing someone else to gain experience and skill while I now learn project management from the ground up.

As much as I'd like to keep doing everything, I now feel I simply need to understand everything - so I know what I want and what to expect. I read Rob's Report on 90 articles in 3 days... as well as listened to Escape from Cubicle Nation and E-Myth... and systemizing seems to be the key to making things happen quicker and faster.

I'm still in my first few weeks of systemizing, so I have some time to see improvement, but I just wanted to know in your experience, has the art of effective systemizing put you on a brand new playing field?

    Hello Lauryn,

    I used to do everything but always shyed away from anything that was remotely technological. I'm quite awful when it comes to building sites and all that stuff, so from word go I've tended to outsource that. I always learned its sometimes best outsource the things you can't do.

    Over time I've been outsourcing more and more to try and free up my time. Having said that, I'm not fully there in terms of freeing up my time but I do find now my time is much more productive and I'm finally starting to get to grips with my technophobic condition.

    What you are doing is very good. You are finding or at least making your way towards the most productive and beneficial system available to run your business.

    Hi Lauryn,

    Outsourcing is certainly going to explode as a topic and niche in 2011;

    From my experience, most people don't struggle with creating a system as much as they struggle with implementing it and sticking to it over the long term, which is why outsourcing is a good way to grow; it forces you to document and systemize processes that you would have otherwise kept in your own mind.

    E Myth is a definite read for anyone who wants to know more, as is talking your way onto the Prospective Franchisee open days for any similar business to yours!

    Best of Luck

    Thank you

    Maybe I'll keep notes... Sounds like a WSO in building!

    My goal: Outsource everything, understand everything... do the supportive tasks I love, like writing for niches I actually like... and planning sites.

    This IM thing is "gangsta"! Project Management, Marketing and other skills all combined into one.

    I Go Hard = "Slanguage" for putting forth a lot of effort.

    Don't be an arse and try to flip something you clearly have no knowledge of against me.
