Google Adwords Landing Page Quality PROBLEM

I was trying to set up my first adwords campaign - something low budget for just a week in a very desperate but secluded niche - and my ads were not shown due to "poor landing page quality"

The landing page I directed to was the product page I am promoting. As far as affiliate products go, the page is very high quality. The author is a member of a few nationally accredited health groups, etc.

Is there something in particular that is a real big factor in the "landing page quality" that I am missing?

It's funny because Google loves to sell traffic but they sure don't like people trying to make money with it. Your page probably looks too spammy, I'd either tone it down a bit or build a new landing page that is more info and less sales talk. Others have better answers I'm sure.

As negative as this sounds, it's true. One of my clients who is an expert in PPC and has a lot of high profile clients said the same thing...I stopped using Google because of this. Try starting with Yahoo, Facebook and MSN instead.

anything to do with miracle worker, love doctor, snake oil , loose 100 ponds in 100 minutes hype will never work regardless of author.

This is really quiet frustrating because this is a very solid page and product.

The niche is a mental health niche, with which the author has legitimate credentials. It is not a miracle cure type product, it is reading material, audio tracks, etc, including contributions from doctors/psychs around the country, has been in the several national newspapers, and national niche magazines, and has a physical product option that you can have mailed to you.

      I don't get it

Are u promoting the product as an affiliate? If so, that's your problem. Google will see your page as a bridge page and you won't be able to get your ads approved. I would suggest you move way from Adwords and go to Bing.

        Cheers

One minor quality page factor is how well the ad copy matches the content of the landing page, a long shot: the right wording might nudge it into acceptability.

There's talk that Google would prefer there to be no affiliate marketers, they're viewed as unneeded middlemen (shades of Hitchhiker's Guide)
Direct linking to sales pages can be problematic, being a secluded niche you probably don't have a problem with the one ad per destination rule that discourages direct linking, the most universal solution is for you to create your own landing page that presells the product before linking to the sales page, and most importantly also provides a better pages quality, besides text content the matches up to the keywords and ad copy, you need links to privacy policy, contact and terms and conditions ages to demonstrate proper customer care, and at least one escape link to the rest of your site.
