Banner Or No Banner Salespage

Hello,
I have been looking around for some salespage design and I found that some of the more popular products don't even have a banner. Most of David Deangelo's salespages don't have banners.

Below is an example.

I know at the end of the day, it all boils down to testing. But when you launch a new product on Clickbank (non IM niche), does the fact that the salespage does not have a banner turn you off?

Looking forward to your responses.

It personally does not turn me off. If the product / salespage is good then the product will stand on its own.

I will say that I do prefer a banner..

I love simplicity. I love sales pages that go straight to the point. No banners are necessary in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. I am currently testing two versions of the salespage and I will probably launch the product after knowing the results.

    Thanks

I don't think it matters with banners or not, but as for the copy:

I'd skip the part about you condensing every last morsel of hardworking information and just tell your customer:

The very best, rapid-fire skills for mastery with women. Something like that.

      Hammer the benefits.

  • I assume to mean a header image or header graphic surely?

When you say a banner it suggests an advertising banner which would be pointless on a sales page.

Yes, you are right. I am not talking about an advertising banner. I am talking about a banner or a header graphic related to the product I am selling.

Then in that case, I think it depends and like you say you need to test. I would deffinately say that the hypey graphical headers some of the IM products use are a deffinate turn off.

But a good professional header graphic will give a good impression.

He's tested them all with and without headers. The ones that are long-standing without headers tested better without them, and vice-versa.

It doesn't matter whether it turns me off, because I'm not your customer. Split-testing your page provides the only meaningful answer to this - it really does.

Generally, I prefer sales pages without a header. And the testing results that I've seen myself (clients' pages, not mine - I'm not a vendor) have done better without headers, but the key factor in that could easily have been the fact that their headers were dreadful (which many are!).

Thanks Alexa. Right now I am testing the same and I guess getting used to seeing so many IM salespage with headers and graphics, creating a salespage without a header seems so weird. But as you said at the end of the day, the results will tell.
