How many of you are using the newest version of skype 5.0 and is it working well or do you like the previous versions better?

I haven't tried version 5 yet. When I clicked to check for updates there was nothing to do it seemed.

  Not sure this helps dvduval but I just went to the help tab and saw the check for updates and it said I was due a "Major Upgrade"
  
  I'm sure you've probably done this, thought I'd say just in case you hadn't. It was the first time I'd actually bothered.

Works a treat , think is is the best yet that they have come up with, the facebook side is ok but limited imo

I haven't upgraded yet from v 4.2, but from what I understand the major upgrades have to do with multiple user videoconferencing, which is something I really don't have a need for.

  I am not a big skype user yet and I have few contacts on my list, so the new version does pretty much the same as the old one for me.
  The big change that I see is that the screen area is occupied by a very generous size of the logo/pictures of the contacts .
  I assume that if you are using the camera you must be able to see all your contacts [used to be up to9] side by side during the conversation.

5.0 seems as good as the previous version. I have not tried out most new features yet, but the functionality I use is great.

Upgraded to Skype 5 recently after an enthusiastic testimonial from a friend. Haven't had a chance to use it much but it was a bit frustrating getting used to the new user interface.

Yeah normally I liked the previous version, but it seems skype did a good job on this one...
Its quicker and easier to read.
