What would YOU do with 10,000 unique articles?

I have found myself in the fortunate position of being able to obtain unique articles at such a low price that they are virtually free. I am not going in to details as to how this is so, but have been trying to work out how best to leverage the situation. They are pre written and so cannot be tailored to order, but are of exceptionally high quality.

Here are my initial thoughts.

1 Offer them for sale.

2 use them to build an article directory covering multiple niches that is entirely consisted of articles containing MY affiliate links, not authors.

3 Create large content sites, niche specific and use a percentage of the articles to generate back links

4 Set up a PLR membership site/shop

6 use them to submit to preminum article directories to generate back links and traffic to money sites

I suppose the question is: where is content most valuable.

And I know what your going to say, "it depends on the quality" Well in answer to that let's just say the articles are 100% unique, they have not been re-written in any way at all, all written by English speakers with good knowledge of the subject. They are FANTASTIC quality in every way.

Please don't ask how vie got these, but I would love to hear your plans on how you would use them!

You have listed some i was going to suggest,

set up a membership site, using them as the content,

and sell them to others, aslong as the rights allow it.

Before I went charging forward, I'd start with that list you came up with. Spend some time with a legal pad and a calculator, estimating the returns on each of those options. Also list the amount of work required to cash in on each option. Weigh the two lists and pick the one that appeals to you the most.

Or just send them to me, and I'll let you know which one worked out the best for me...

I would work with a smart warrior and "discover" a new method of selling PLR material,

I would limit the amount of availability, and increase its value.

I would continue to develop the concept of marketing and do it all over again.

PS, if you dont do this I will, LOL,

I would just submit them all to EzineArticles and get a massive amount of backlinks and traffic to my websites.

No, really, seriously. This is the path you would take having been gifted 10 000 unique articles?

I think the plan that John laid out would be best. Find out which of your already listed options would potentially make the largest income and do that. You've got more than enough great ideas already up there. If you can get articles on that regular of a basis, you should definately utilize them as much as you can. You may find that a combination of the things you listed works out best.

Dont forget the amount of work that could potentially be involved in dealing with that amount of content.

Whatever you choose, just make sure you don't leave them to collect cyber dust. You could easily make a fortune if you do it right.

    Best wishes,
    Sylvia

I probably wouldn't do much with them other than use them for backlinking. I only say this because if I could get my hands on 10,000 UNIQUE articles at a very low price - almost free - then I'm guessing that they would be spun articles and to be honest I wouldn't give spun articles the time of day!

      I agree with Sheryl...

High quality articles to me, are articles that are useful, engaging pieces of content that creates an emotional or physical response in the reader...

...a physical response like click a link through to your site, buy your product, optin to your newsletter, pick up the phone...

If that's what you got in your hands as you say, then boy your in a fortunate postion and I'd fully utilize them by recruiting outsourcers to repurpose all that content into...

      podcasts
      powerpoint slides
      videos
      ebooks
      blog content
      link bait
      paid info products
      small reports
      ...the list goes on...

...leverage that content as much as possible and set up an info product business from it all and drive traffic from offering teaser content into paid products.... :-)

      I quote "Frank Kern"..

"Making money online is easy, just give people stuff that make em happy...
...Then sell em stuff that make em even happier..."

      I love that quote

Create a blog/website, put backlinks on at least 10% of your articles. Then market the rest in your website.

If they're totally unique, wonderful, etc., I would try to use as many as possible to build into websites. With a number that high, I imagine there would have to be plenty of sets that include 10 or more articles on the same topic.

The rest I would probably use to build backlinks to said sites, even spinning some of the originals that were going to be used for backlinks to stretch them even further.

To be honest, it would really depend how they were split out, into niches or what? So lets say there is 50 niches, which means there is 200 articles/per niche, I'd find 50 primary keywords, one for each niche, then find as many as possible long-tail secondary keywords with a decent number of searches, publish a new article maybe, once every week to a wordpress blog, using the content already posted on the blog for article submissions, then mixing in a bit of unique content to build those 'extra quality' links to the sites. Hopefully then each niche site would be getting a decent amount of traffic from the article websites alone, then once it starts to move up though the rankings, that's when the real traffic would be coming in.

I mean 50 niche sites, if you get 200 unique visitors a day to each website, that's 10,000 unique visitors every day, lets say on average you make $20 from a lead/sale/whatever, you'd need 1:1000 conversation across your blogs (Meaning 1 in every 1,000 uniques generates you money) to make $200/per day.

Then I'd keep reinvesting in new articles, pump up the pace a bit on sites which are slacking, publish more unique content to the websites still on the second page, or ones which are slowly dropping, up it to 3-5 posts a week. Then I'd probably carry on building more niche websites and buying super cheap content.

But heck, that's just my plan

It will become useless if you just keep them inside your pocket.
dispose them ASAP there are thousands of ways to do it !!
come on if you cant think of any ! then make a sales page and sell it !!
definitely will increase your traffic !!

exactly what I had in mind, given that many article directories are easy to break into, I'd certainly not rule out the possibility of ending up with stolen contents. wouldn't hurt to do a random copyscape check if you've bought them for any amount less than $5k, excellent quality, 100% unique, yes $5k to be on a extreme low side.

10000 articles is a lot. Assuming they are unique and already divided into subject groups, I would put a VA into sorting them depending upon quality. Divide them into groups and monetize them accordingly.

The so-so stuff, to build mininets for your own properties.

More so-so stuff, build blogfarmsfarms and sell linkspace.

The better/good stuff, sell as plr. If you can identify numerous articles on the same subjects, have the VA assemble them into reports / ebooks for sale.

More better stuff, use it to build a list.

        Etc

I would rewrite them and sell the rewrites as packs. I would borrow ideas from related articles and mix it around with NO spinners, as I don't believe in spinners. I would much rather make them human readable from the start.

    Thanks for the responses.

After thinking about this for a while and listening to you wonderful lot I have decided on two possible directions.

    1. Using them solely on premium article directories such as ezine and article base with the purpose of driving traffic. I am thinking of going for quantity and seeing what sticks.

Maybe then pick out the succwessful ones and backlink them a bit (with articles of course!) If on average every article sends me 1 person a day, I could have 1 hundred visitors to my site everyday in no time.

    2. The other possible path maybe to just keep on submitting to a blog, I'll just choose one big niche to start with like IM and just keep pumping in quality original content. I have often wondered what the outcome of such a thing would be? Can you rank well by just submitting content, or do you need to make backlinks as well.

Wouldn't all the long tail traffic keep adding up until a certain momentum was reached and your visitors increased?

The quality of these articles, although good are more suited to directories such as ezine rather than my blog. They are informative and readable, but very 'generic' (is that the right word?) and certainly not the kind of 'blow your socks off' articles I want my blog to hold. However, I have considered that if no. 2 above is true, to use them as 'filler' articles on my blog.

Maybe use them to beef things out and keep the content regular - I know Google likes this.

It is difficult to come up with killer content all the time and I would rather research, and take my time to writer the best I can rather than spending time on half arsed stuff.

I could submit these articles in the background if you like and use them to gather longtail traffic, presenting the new visitors with only my premium content once they arrive, hiding them from the navigation maybe - just a thought (Is it better to have 100% killer content, or dilute it a little to get longtail traffic and regular content to win favour with G?)

    Anyway thanks again

    Paul

You need to get backlinks too. Submit them to your blog and then to the article directories for backlinks.

Choose this methods and you will be creating a passive income stream that will make you money virtually forever (provided you have chosen the correct keywords and have your site setup properly for conversions).

Or, you could sell them as unique articles for $10 each and make a quick $100,000. That is assuming they are the quality you say and are on a desirable topic and keyword optimized.

Or, you could put them in PLR packs, open a PLR store and make much more than $100,000 but then you would have to wait a long time to build traffic and your list so that you are making steady income.

Personally, I would choose the first one that would be a bit of work up front but once setup would make money for a long time. The second would give you a lot of money with very little work, but once the articles are gone there would be no more money. The third is a good option if you want to be in the PLR business but would be much more work than the first.

I'm curious now, when you put some of your articles up in ezinearticles.com or your blog add a link to this thread.
You say they aren't high enough quality to use regularly on your blog. So why don't you start another blog or two and post them there?

If it were me I'd take all the suggestions already presented to you here and put a hundred articles in each place, use unique domains/tracking links so you can keep track of what gives you the best results. When you've figured that out then focus on what works.

And if you have 10,000 of the things you might give away 25 or 50 to a few people in exchange for them letting you know how well received the articles are.
