Default Are Your Design Skills Worse Than A Fifth Grader? :-)

Alright - my design skills suck. And badly too. I've tried Photoshop, and spent a couple hours on it trying my hardest... the end result? Something that looks like crap and was knocked up in two minutes using Paint.

The problem with starting up online is that apart from the domain and hosting, there are other, smaller costs that can quickly add up - hiring writers, designers and so on. Now the writers part I can't help you with, but the design part... I can.

A friend pointed this out to me a week ago (I'm not affiliated with it at all) and it's an awesome, free tool for throwing together quick logos to stick up on your new websites. For a professional website, of course you're not going to use these but you can start off with one of these and pay for a custom logo design when your website does start making traffic and revenue.

The tool is Logo Ease, specifically their Logo creator - you need an account to use it but that takes thirty seconds to make. I've managed to make designs with it in around five minutes that don't look half bad for my niche sites, and I'm sure those that are more capable could do a lot better.

Some of the designs produced with this by others...

Certainly better than some of the stuff designers have sent me in the past, and a great way to cut on costs at the start of a project.

Thought that a few Warriors would find this useful, lemme know!

There's a great vector graphics program that is under $100 and WAYYY easier than photoshop to use. You have a ton of tools and flexibility with it. It's called Xara and you can see it at www.freetoolsandtips.com/xara.

Enjoy!

That's a great site. I have very poor design skills too...I'll be using it for sure.
