How many Warriors running One Man Business?

I believe the percentage will be 95%. Let me know what are your experience, responsibilities, work hours etc. Do you work from home?

Personally I'm also running a One Man Business (Almost) I have a small team who help me in different things, but they are not I can completely rely on. So I manage the website, promote it, write posts, work on client websites etc.

Which parts you take care in your business? Do you outsource your work? Do you have a regular/outsourced staff? Please share!

Same here, but those people are not partners or don't make decisions. I found many great personalities who have helped with work, connections, suggestions, advice etc.

Ah i see! In that case i my answer is that i was once a 1 man business. But as you grow into the IM biz, i think it becomes inevitable that you meet JV opportunities and partners who want to do the business with you. I think this is essential to scale up your business and to grow bigger.

Hi, you can say that I'm in the early stages of my online business and the thing I offer is freelance web design services. On the way I received a couple of JV proposals, but I didn't got the right offer.

I'm outsourcing some of my work while I do the rest myself for now.

I am literally just me working at the kitchen table! It's only this forum that stops me feeling isolated, as none of my family or friends have the slightest clue what i'm doing.

But in the future I would look at outsourcing some stuff I hate doing.

I started with me... one small punky internet geek. In the begining I did everything ~ quality was not the greatest but I improved as I learned.
I hooked up with my partner and then we were two. A small team if you will.
We outsource many things now but what started from a one girl show has now grown to a moderatley sized network where we purchase assistance where necessary and self resource where we can.
Eventually the idea is to move out from the "working" environment, outsource /automate almost everything and retreat.

Hi Tamal, I used to "try" to do it all on my own, but I am really pretty awful at techie stuff and never seem to get any better at it either. Fortunately I'm now able to outsource most of what I need to do, which is mainly about content creation, some backlinking work and some graphic work.

I've tried to set up a few JV's over the past months but nothing came to fruition and those that did I was let down badly on both occasions.

    Happy days! :-)

    Regards
    Joseph

        Hi Tamar,
well I did a Challenge here on the Warriors a while back and whilst doing that and ever since the completion of it I got a lot of offers for SEOing for folks and small companies. But I'm not a good employee so I turned it all down, even though my own IM business was far from thoroughly successful.

Fortunately these days I'm seeing more success from my efforts, so I can afford to outsource the stuff I don't enjoy doing (which from time to time when I'm lacking motivation is almost all of it, lol!).

SEO is a right old mind-bore, so I get pretty fed up with it fairly often, albeit, as I said, I now do outsource large chunks of the projects I have going at this time.

I'd like to get many more projects up and running cos I've got quite a number of good ideas (IMHO ;-) ) but I've got to wait to let my IM income build up that bit more to be able to afford all the outsourcing. Hence this was the reason for seeking JV's but they've not been working out for various reasons (folks tend to expect fast results from SEO and thus fast income too, when it rarely works that way, hence they get despondent and lose focus).

        Regards
        Joseph

One man biz, by this I meant being the owner of your own biz with no JV partners, actually it does not mean all alone, as we have clients, providers and so many friends online

i run all my efforts on my own for the most part, i take care of the seo work. i do outsource some people from time to time to go out and get more clients. i work anywhere from 10-50 hour weeks depending on order volume. i prefer it this way. much more control over what goes on. though i am prone to mistakes from time to time lol.

I realized a long time ago that alone, I won't be able to do much and thus my progress will be slow so I came up with a plan, hired a VA and that's when I started outsourcing.

Today, I have a team of 5 full-time and 8 on-demand workers. That includes writers, designers, programmers and everything guys (they take care of SEO, script installation etc.)

I do have a huge outsourcing budget of $4000+ every "regular" month but at the end of the day that's almost 30-40% of my income and I get to keep a bigger part of my profits and also my business it totally hands-off so I think it's worth it.

I run a different side of my business with a friend but on the internet marketing side I’m on my own. I seem to get more done if I’m working alone. Getting my ideas up and running is a lot easier too and it also gives me the freedom to fail > we all fail sometimes.

Only one warrior run my One Woman Business.

How many hours do I spend? Well, it depends on what I'm doing; how much energy, I have; what else I have to do; and how much I like, what I'm doing at the moment.

Sometimes, I get up at 9 and work until 18. Work includes research, new learning, etc.

Other times, I start working at 12PM and work a couple of hours.

Other times again, I work from 10AM to 2AM.

Since I'm my own boss, I can work when I feel like it.

I've tried outsourcing some boring work (was in a challenge that ended up not working), but the work wasn't done to my liking, so I think I'll limit my business to only doing the work, I like, and then doing it myself.

I havent outsourcing , because when you have everything running by yourself you know everything why is happening so before making other do your work you need to give the some training and also trust them.

This is the hardest part, do any one have done this with success?

Obviously this part is hard, especially finding reliable people in good rates; if you can afford you have to hire some good freelancers in good wage.

Years ago I tried outsourcing my projects, but it was difficult to find reliable people. Now I have 26 full-time writers, graphic artists and techie specialists as well as 14 commission-based online/offline sales reps.

Going at it alone can be a challenge. Dealing with the loneliness and the perception from friends and family that you are a total computer geek can be rough.

However, I've found that working with a partner, trusted allies, and mentors can make life a lot better. It's great to have others to bounce ideas off. I know it's saved me from spending time and money on obvious mistakes.

So while I might not net as big a check if I'd done it all myself, I find the quality of life and often business results are better when I work with others.

      Power in a focused group!

I am running a one man show. I work anywhere from 3 to 9 hours per day (7 days a week). I'm not making enough to do this full time (yet).

I actually like doing most of the work myself and oursource very little.

Hope 2011 is HUGE for all.
