Ok, Ive been marketing for about 14 months now. Mostly I concentrate on Youtube and list building. I understand what people are saying about blogs and I have tried my hand at blogs, however, I feel that creating websites have benefit me far more then any blog that I created. (maybe because I attemped blogs early in my time on the Interent.) My question to you guys is this: How many prefer to work with blogs and why. I really want to know if blogs are worth attempting to learn. On the reverse side how many prefer websites and why. Needless to say I personally prefer websites. Maybe because I learned a great deal about them over the last several months. But if you guys say that blogs are better, then i may reconsider blogs once again. Your help is great appreciated. Gary |

If it's a static page, leave blogs alone. Use blogs only for dynamic sites where content is always updated. It's just too much of a hassle to install and setup php blog system for a single page static website... Chris |

I resisted getting into blogs for the longest time simply because I liked the look of static sites better. Blogs were too "bloggy" and didn't seem "professional" enough. But today, blogs don't have to look any different than a static site so I think they are much better for content sites. So much easy to edit and there are all those SEO plugins you can use. I would always go with one hosted on my own domain because a free one can be shut down at any time (even if you don't do anything "wrong") so all your hard work of promoting it would be down the drain. Yep depends on the site. I had a 3 page site in a small niche that was static and it did very well. When I decided to add more pages to it I switched it over to WP and modified the theme to still look like a static site. On that site I have no plans of adding posts, just pages. |

It depends upon what kind of site.. But it never hurts to have both.. Have your main site and use the blog for member / visitor updates. Just make sure if you use wordpress that you get it secured.. James |

Definitely hosted blog. I just put up another post that addressed this. Hosted WP blog allows you to monetize (if you choose) Very dynamic and you can get content feeds to keep updated/fresh unlike static web pages. I'm setting up 4 blogs now for 4 niches becuse of this. will have navigation, functionality, etc but much better to tie in w/ social media, long term better play in my opinion. hope this helps todd

Why not have both? A static front page and have all of your other pages a blog in a sub-domain. With all of the plug-ins available you can make your blog do just about anything. That way you have the best of both worlds. You can also create a RSS feed for your static pages.

having a website is great, but adding content to it can be time consuming. If you host a blog alongside your website, when you post to your blog you are in the search engines eyes, in effect adding fresh content to your website. So both in my book. Graham |

Are you looking for a business opportunity that’s property related? Well, the answer may be closer than you think – right on your doorstep perhaps. In fact, there’s money to be made anywhere you see a property for sale. Let me explain…

A blog is less expensive (often free), and less of a pain to work with.
