Wordpress and WHMCS intergration??

okay so, recently i have been having trouble getting my wordpress site and whmcs looking the same.

without all the background info lets just say its isnt really possible.

what ive had to do is convert the wordpress header to something whmcs will understand.

there is already a plugin that can do this (all beit a little clunky and provides no scope you either replace the header or you dont, you cant have wordpress header and whmcs tags in the file)

i have eventually managed to find a way the will keep both sites the same even when changes happen to the wordpress header and footer.(so its dynamic, no need to "update" the files)

what i am wondering is if this is a desirable product? ie a wordpress plugin?

as it is i can use it no problems, but i would need to do some work to it for it be okay for use as a full wordpress plugin.

and i dont want to create all this extra work if it is something people arent interested in.

so a show of hands please.

who uses whmcs?

would you want wordpress intergration plugin?

would you pay for this plugin?

yes its easy, and a built in feature.

basically you setup a product with no admin panel selected (usually cpanel/direct admin/etc)

and give it a "one time" price no recurring amount.

then set it to auto release on paid status.

the rest is self explanitory (description, title, etc)

in whmcs you can set products to have associated downloads (which cannot be seen by people who havent purchased)

so you get an entire delivery system for free (that is self hosted and completly under your control)

plus your buyer has to register to purchase so you retain theier email address and can notify them of changes, etc. (which can be done through whmcs "mass mail clients" features.

im finding it brilliant for everything.

no it might not have the features of aweber, or the specs of payment download sites.

but everyhting is done internally, and fully controlable.

      i think its brilliant.

I use WHMCS for one of my product ranges too. As well as handling product delivery it has built-in affiliate management, help desk and knowledge base. It also features inventory control as well, allowing you to limit the number of a product sold. It's been handy, to say the least. I'm often surprised by how little it gets a mention on here considering how many of us have Hostgator reseller accounts and could use the facilities that it offers.

It's free with HostGator reseller accounts (and available to those without at a price, although it's primarily geared towards selling hosting). It's not a 'push one button' set-up job and might take more to install and configure than some people are comfortable with, but it's not really that difficult either. More about WHMCS here...

For those interested in whmcs , they have a 15-day trial license, very usefull if you want to give it a testdrive, in case you like it , you can simply upgrade the trial to full license without having to reinstall everything

i tried it and it is really really good for multiple purposes

nice to see im not alone using this software, although i do think maybe it should be free/open source or a lot cheaper.

its seems from the result of the poll this would be a good idea, but considering the small response i think i may need to do it in my downtime.

Why would you use wordpress with whmcs over getting templates for whmcs? Or is there additional functionality of wordpress that you want to use with whmcs?

the reason i specifically use wordpress and whmcs is because i have reseller hosting/ i provide services (design/animation/etc), and i offer products.

all this can be done through whmcs but i cannot get pages and a fully functioning website with just whmcs.

i use wordpress for the "site" and then intergrate whmcs as the "shopping cart"

this work great for me, and i wanted to know if this is how other people use it.

However somewhat contradicting my vote above...I'm not entirely sure a plugin is required to use WHMCS with Wordpress...Isn't it possible to utilise Product delivery independently of Wordpress Via WHMCS.

For example you can have a WP site...but host your content on WHMCS?

You don't need a Plugin to make that possible, unless I'm missing something..

WHMCS is AWESOME. That said, I also use Amazon EZs3 aswell...which is Awesome too.

yes i already use whmcs for delivery, the intergration im talkinga bout would be making whmcs "look" like wordpress at first.

and then maybe develop it into a "login share" share. ive seen this feature requested alot in the whmcs forums and just wanted your opinions.

I want to add some "members only " material into the WHMCS install but finding it tough going -
_ I have read some concerns re - integrating the logins with wordpress - making the WHMCS easier to hack
    - Have also seen - offers of $20 to change the WHMCS header / footer to match wordpress.
For me the best/safest solution will be to add content within the WHMCS site -
    Creating Pages - WHMCS Documentation
the first line states "Creating your own custom pages for WHMCS is simple"
maybe - but quick and easy mmmmmmmm.... not
after working with wordpress it seams such a chore sigh....
it is a great billing system for hosting but ... as a secure members area for content delivery ... shudder ...

For anyone still looking for a solution to this problem...

After spending a few day looking for the best solution to this common request, I found it!!

There is a great plug-in available now called Template Sync.

Basically you add a couple bits of code to your header.php and footer.php, then hit a button and shazam, a html version of the files is created. from there it is a simple inclufe file in the .tpl files and you're up and running. If you update any parts, simply hit the button and it generates a new file... wish I found this days ago.

See it at work here... Professional Web Solutions - Clients Page
