Default Anyone Tried PHP List?

Hi All,
I've been searching for suitable mailing list software for a while now . . .

Has anyone used phplist.com : Homepage : home

It's free, and open source, has anyone had any experience using this software? If so, what are your opinions?

Simon.

I use it and i think its ok. It doesnt have an autoresponder component like aweber, but visitors can opt into a newsletter and you can send them broadcasts. My deliverly rate has been good, a lot of in house emailing ha sto do with the quality of your servers and how many resources you have as well.

I have used it with some of my clients and it is definitely the best open source mail list manager I have every used. The code is good and the system is stable.

The interface is pretty slick and intuitive which for some of my not-so-tech-savvy clients is very important.

As for mail delivery, I have had no real problems at all. It queues mail nicely and can handle large loads. A lot of the mail delivery aspect may depend on any restrictions by your host or if your ip or cblock (the block of ip's you are contained in) has been added to any anti-spam checkers.

Hope that helps...

It was ok but I found it not quite as intuitive as I wanted, nor nearly as flexible as I needed.

I spent a few dollars and have a really nice customized version of Infinite Responder that I use now.

I can import leads, I can collect additional data beyond name/email, I can move leads from 'prospect' list to 'customer' list, etc.

I'll likely be releasing a copy of this in the next week or two to get feedback on it and see what additional improvements might be worthwhile to add.
