Hi ... looking for some opinions or experiences marketers on offering a "lifetime" warranty on your product ?

Was it worth it ? Advantage vs. Disadvantage ?

The longer the warranty the better it is received by your customers the ones that don’t like it are the credit card companies.

But if I see something with a lifetime guarantee I’m more likely to buy it then the same one that has only a 30 day guarantee. Besides the likelihood that someone would claim on it after 30 days is highly unlikely it would only be a very small amount.

If you can live with it I’d go with it.

I offer a 1-year warranty on some of the physical products I sell. Realistically I think I COULD go with a lifetime warranty and not have it affect me. But there is no way to "fix" this particular product, it would just need to be replaced. It's a product that WILL be worn out at some point. So for that reason, I don't think it really makes sense to go that far out unless it's a problem that is supposed to last a lifetime...like a Safe or a Lock or something.

And if it's an info-product, then people can just request refunds after 9 months without really having to do anything. At least with a physical prdouct, you could always protect yourself by putting in the warrranty that the product may need to be sent in and inspected.

If they remember they have it after 9 months. If the person is actively using the info product then they may request a refund, but odds are that most people will forget all about it if they are not using it.

A warranty only implies fixing or supporting products. A Guarantee implies a refund offer.
